Hey, about what time will the server be up? looking to get my fix.. lol

Map wipe is at server owners discretion and the first thursday of every month is a force wipe which could result is the devs possibly wiping BP's also but that rarely happens. Most commonly with a Force Wipe you will see only a map wipe.

Renewed, I'm fairly new to Rust too but from what I've experianced you are correct: there are two kinds of wipes.

Map wipe - Map is reset, players keep the BP's they know.
Full wipe - Map is reset, BP's players know are also reset.

I'm under the impression that the "Forced Wipe" will be a full wipe due to a change in game mechanics, but I could be wrong.

I'm a new Rust player and haven't experienced a force wipe yet — can anyone tell me how when and how long it'll take? Also, I get that generally you lose the map AND blueprints on full wipes (are force wipes full).... but Matt seems to be indicating that we'll keep our BP's?

Basically, at what time tomorrow can I get online, and will everyone be bashing each other with rocks and scrounging for BP scraps?

Alright, so after many spirits being held in suspence, i have successfully uploaded the backup on the new server. Thing is everything works besides the map so instead of bringing the server up for a 1 day wipe, Im going to wait until tommorows force wipe to bring it back up! After alot of rust related issues, we have wiped the server again! Hope to see everyone on here! (BPs Did not wipe)

Since the backup files aren't too big, do you think setting up a daemon (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daemon_(computing)) to backup more often? Or up the backup frequency with whatever native tools Rust provides?

Hey guys after 2 hours of downtime that felt like a enternity, We could not figure out another solution besides



(A) Backup the server to the most recent backup (1 day and 9 hours ago) and keep players bps but we figured this would just make the players that joined later in the wipe more frustrated.

(B) Whitelist the server for 72 hours, and Put a message stating the return would be oct.1 and players would be keeping their bps, but after mentioning this idea it was quickly rejected by the players. Which leads us to option C.

(C) Go on with the wipe since all servers would wipe anyway in 72 hours because of rust force wipe, and Keep players bp's. I found this to be the most viable option for our current circumstances.

This has NEVER happened on Simple Rust nor anything related. We here are dedicated admins and i personally love seeing players happy and when things like this happen i don't know why it frustrates me to, On the bright side of things this way you will be able to work on blueprints for next wipe. The server will wipe on October the 1st, 2015 (Excluding BP's). All your bps for this wipe are fine, sadly i could not recover the map as i stated earlier and this is honestly the best i could do, For my new players i am sincerly sorry, for my old you know me and i would never try to do this nor do i ever do this! So i personally am asking all of you to forgive me for whatever happened and for those that don't, and leave, I want to thank you for playing on Simple Rust and am sorry i've made your time with us unpleasant!

@noodles, I'd love to just let the wipe go on and keep your bps and just let you guys gather bps until thursday when the wipe is, But alot of people would like to see their bases back etc. I'm trying my best currently.
