Those who truly followed CSAT would accept this while others would have refused and attempted to fight back or escape into darkspace, but inevitably all of the sector would fall to CSAT.

This means that factions like the Solarian league, the Commonwealth and all the tiny factions if they so decided could have left into darkspace and lived or died into this new Roleplay, GD2. You can remake old factions, but they will be remnants and subject to only advantages in lore and understanding, not tech or military. I've sadly lost interest in this, to my own disappointment, I've found myself a bit bored of these things, and I've began to focus more on Fantasy, so I might put my faction to bed for a while.
