If we saw ourselves as a products of this universe instead of beings planted here by a supernatural being to "be fruitful and multiply" or "to be good stewards", maybe we would thank the universe by preserving and respecting life instead of exploiting and destroying it, or by taking responsibility of childbearing by having one only when we have the desire and means to raise one, so that each precious life is well educated and loved, not lacking in the attention and guidance that each human being deserves.
