In my opinion, using the smooth bar is really bad advice. It's a crutch, and if you rely on it, you'll build bad habbits and you'll never be able to produce high quality animation.

It's much better to achieve a smooth look trough accurate timing and spacing rather than using the smooth bar in the motion editor.

I strongly advise you to look up on youtube "the 12 principles of animation", by that guy who animated "animation vs animator". It's great stuff.

When it comes to mixing voicelines to create new ones i still haven't quite figured that out, maybe some other person out here could help us both in that regard. But when it comes to importing straight up lines of dialogue the valve official tutorials witch you can easily find on youtube as well as on the steam page of sfm have a video on that as long with several very useful videos on sfm as a whole. Also, if you ever need help finding a specific voice line when they are all organized as "battlecy_4" instead of what the character is actually saying, you can usually just google it.

heres a suggestion: Go on the root transforms, add scale controls, scale everything down, now would you look at that you got your big as a map model that is a pain to light and its way down now.
It might be a pain to scale everything down equally when you spawn it in but theres 2 sides to every coin baby

you can use ANY valve ip, even if its not modified at all. every item from the workshop is fine too. anything else you need explicit permission from the creator or it needs to be royalty free. you can learn more about this at valve's official ruleset for the saxxies.
