When did you join an NxU server?

Hey it's Kurdt, and I don't know why im writing this but to be honest I thought it'd be trendy and cool to do so. You may remember the mighty Battle Royal servers we used to run and I don't want to sound big headed when I say this, but I feel like our community, with the help of TBG revived/introduced this base gamemode (exclusing dayz battle royale) to life.
I recently had a DarkRP server before and was struggling to find a fun game that would actually get players and form a friendly community until I stumbled through this broken gamemode in the workshop and thought 'hey no one else is actually setting up this gamemode', soon finding out why.

Strangely enough it got players and I was shocked, I called my friend BBgun bragging about how I was getting these players, although when he joined he was not impressed with the way the game ran... LEts just say it wasnt optimised...
Luckily he was there to help, forming databases for leaderboards, anitcheats and recoded literally about half the gamemode (cheers). This allowed more players and we realised 1 server was not enough, SO WE GOT 2.

to cut a long story short, we tried to introduce battle royale 2, it flopped and then BAM servers kinda died out.




One of the main reasons was primarily due to competition:
We drew alot of attention to the gamemode and people wanted in (mainly the french). Some servers even went as far as stealing our files until we made it pretty secure, others were just good coders, with smoother running servers and an alround more enjoyable game, which is fair enough.

After that I kinda spent less time on steam working and prepared for uni where I am now, with the whole server shutting down due to me being BROKE (or tight).

I now look on GMOD and see other battle royale servers and think 'oh cool', slightly envious on whether to join them as they are probably incredibly developed now.

I guess its nice the things we had and I'd love to see myself coming back to it when I have the money, but we will just see what happens.

For now I say thanks as I never did! For the donations and interest in the community. Most of you are leaving now but I wish I couldve grown it more :(
