Source 2006 is the right engine for Neotokyo. Check your Hammer configs?

So, got back into mapping again, had to configurate SDK source, everything is back and good, only got one problem. All info_overlays appears as big red ERROR models on them, i even checked if the entities: info_overlay is appearing in the entities list. And yes it is there. When making a new overlay it also appears to be an error model. I'm using 2006 version in the source sdk. Probably choosed the wrong one?

Beggining work on a Dirigible blimp map, lanes on the bottom catwalk, through the cabins, and one large open one on the surface of the blimp top. Anyone know anything about creating a decent moving skybox similar to Bullet, only all air? what about a moving fog layer (like night shrine only with momentum) to simulate the speed of the blimp?

Seems you can safely spawn 10 players with 32 spawnpoints. I guess I'll just make a 5v5 map then . __ .

With only 10 spawns, only 1 player spawns to player_start, always one randomly from player_attacker spawns. With full 32 spawns, any number between 0-4 spawn to the spectator start from both teams. :-(

The bug seems to only happen when a neo_game_config entity is present in the level, and is set to CTG game mode

I'm running into an issue where players occasionally spawn from the info_player_start, instead of their proper spawns (info_player_attacker/defender).

There doesn't seem to be any pattern behind who spawns properly and who doesn't. Map has 32 spawns + 1 info_player_start. If I remove the info_player_start entirely, players randomly spawn from map origin point instead.

I have no leaks. Any idea?

I'am able to create new NT maps. Sadly my only problems is alot of missing sounds and i can't make maps for HL2 and Ep2.

It's somehow broken.

Late answer is late, but these should work:
Game executable: $SteamUserDir\source sdk base\hl2.exe
BSP executable: $SteamUserDir\sourcesdk\bin\ep1\bin\vbsp.exe
VIS executable: $SteamUserDir\sourcesdk\bin\ep1\bin\vvis.exe
RAD executable: $SteamUserDir\sourcesdk\bin\ep1\bin\vrad.exe

NT uses Source 2006, aka EP1.

I have the engine 2007 and 2006 and EP1 and Orangebox versions. Which one do i need to choose for NT?

I joined up here after a lot of inactivity (was bored). Since the game is getting alive (possibly :)) I decided to check back on it. I did Sewers map before and now will try something innovative, like moving elements or binding lights or perchaps items like shield to players (like i did in Alien Swarm for example).

Ah i'm glad your still here! After a little research, in the sound folers from NT is all completly fine! there are no any weird long soundnames or anything like that. I have no idea if theres a workaround to this. Hope somebody have experienced this problem before.

Thanks Rain! Now i can start mapping again! somehow it works now, only after compiling it gives me an error but i'm ignoring that and start up NT and the maps works fine!

Could someone perhaps send me your path directory? or the configuration from SDK? I'm trying it again to set it up properly but want to see how your config is setted up.
Like: Where do you put the "game executable" and which path with "Game directory" ?

Oh, yeah. I've never bothered getting NT to properly execute from Hammer either. If you want to do testing on the fly, having a 800x600-ish windowed instance of NT running in background and just reloading the .bsp with changelevel is handy.

SN-ninja.. your maps may work fine by not running the map after compiling via hammer, then going into NT fromt he steam menu and loading it there by creating a new server.

Sorry, no clue what that error message is about. Perhaps you're better off using the SDK 2009 if it works for you.

I'm not entirely sure if it matters which engine you are mapping (compiling) with, but I've been using Source 2006 since NT is at least currently using it. If you can't select an engine version, that means you don't have any games using that version installed. You can bypass that by writing your own config, help here: http://forum.radi-8.com/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=1758 Unfortunately I can't test the skybox myself right now, but looking at the material filenames "bluesky01_sg" or "bluesky01_sg_" should work (without quotes).

Well after using Hammer editor for Neotokyo in 2006 engine version it still did some weird stuff and it was messed up. Now i decided to make a level for NT, BUT in HL2 2009 engine version! So if i'm going to make the level in HL2 ill put that into NT later when it's all done! (I'm smart!) Now here is the a HINT what for surprise it is.

I'm making a new map right now and it's a surprise. Anyways i want a skybox but i don't know the exact skybox texture name of those skies. I want to use "bluesky01" in nt. But if i compile my map it gives me black/white void around me.

Any help? I'm starting to get fustrated. I can't select Engine version 2006 on Source SDK. Not even 2007. I just can't even make a new configuration for 2006 or 2007.I onky can make a configuration on 2009 engine but that will mess it up and it doesn't work.

No, they are at Engine version 2009 not 2006 and i even can't make a new Configure for 2006.

I already did. But i probably still have hope because i've found hammerautosaves for hammer. Those were saves that were probably used when Hammer editor crashes. So....ill just need to check it out.

That sucks. You could try booting up the machine with a Linux live CD or something, and fetch the data before formatting, perhaps. Unless you already did.

Hello all! Got some bad news to tell......a few days ago my computer had a sneaky virus and i couldn't control a few things like Device manager and stuff. Now i was so stupid because i didn't make a backup for my mapping projects. So this means my (nt_middle_streets) is no longer there anymore.

I'm really depressed that they are gone.....
Hopefully i will get motivated to make something new and hopefully this time it wont happen again!
I'm sorry if this is a little bit short but i hope for all of you to understand what i mean.
Thanks for the reading though!
