Pretty much everyone is doing a sort of random European thing and I think that's cool. It gives hint to a more diverse and interesting fictional world instead of just transposing real-life languages and cultures over an altered map with new names.

Finally, the fun part. Roleplay, we write announcements for our actions alongside attending events and mainting dealings with private messages. Look at these marriages for example, people can make an announcement requesting a marriage and people can attend, it may even end in a public event marriage where people show up which would provide you with an oppurtunity to converse and plan amongst your peers. All in all its a cutthroat game of political intrigue, economics, and sometimes even martial (war) strategy.

First of all, if you don't like work, you're going to have a bad time. You basically write up a character and take charge of something, be it a County, Duchy, a merchant organization, a mercenary company, a band of outlaws, whatever you can think of that feaseable in a fictional 16th Century realm (I recommend reading up on the wiki and in discussions). Second of all, the hard part, income and expenses. In order for there to be an economic focus we all make income and expenses. For example, if you run a mercenary company you have to pay your soldiers (even when not at war) so you have to find some sort of income, counts have to pay for maintence of their holdings and gain income from taxes and resource sales, merchants will have to pay for ships and crew as well as guards but manage trade treaties with counts, dukes, and even Kings if you get lucky.
