Bavaria has held a Catholic mass for this Ash Wednesday to mark the begining of Lent that was open to Everyone*. The teachings of Christ and the Catholic church were preached quite zealously and everyone left feeling blessed with crosses of ash marked on their forehead to remind them of their mortality.
