IGC is Shutting Down

I hate having to make this announcement, but I regret to inform you all that the IGC and its servers will be shutting down on February 7th of this month.

After having talks with Thomas, we've both come to agreement on having the servers shut down after we've concluded that life has gotten in the way of any sort of dedication on server updates and keeping things in check. Free time just isn't as abundant as it used to be. Work has been the biggest part of it personally along with venturing into other pastures and just enjoying other things. With all of that I felt it's just time to move on.

I will say I had an amazing time here at IGC both as a player, a staff member, and an owner. It was definitely a blast being able to have fun with y'all, and I enjoyed every minute of it. This was also considered my very first custom KF community I ever joined, and I never regretted doing so. I was very happy to be able to take part in some memorable games. Who can forget a full server fighting against the Patriarch on Helmzdeep in the WTF server years ago!

Anyways, it's time for me to say goodbye. Thank you all for the continued support, and thank you all for sticking around for as long as you have. Will IGC ever come back? Well... I can't rule out anything, but we'll see! For now IGC will be going away, and it is bittersweet for me, but it must come down to this.

If IGC was or is your only KF home, then I do wish y'all the best of luck out there in finding new ones. I know it'll be hard given how old KF is, but I'm confident y'all can do it!

An Apology to the Community

I've been wanting to do this for a while, and with coffeediction's recent post, I feel it needs to be done now.

I'm going to cut to the chase and say that I am so sorry for how things have turned out here. This was not how I pictured things going, and it was never my intention for things to go in this direction the way it has in this community. I contribute it solely due to my major inactivity that I've had over the past few years, and my inactivity has been caused mainly by my busy work schedule and other life related things that have kept me from properly maintaining things here. In any case, I should've found ways to have kept myself active enough here to keep things in order, and this all falls on me.

When I first joined here, I just loved the custom mods involved. It was far more fun than vanilla, but it also wasn't overwhelming. Eventually I started helping out by reporting bad players/aimbotters and then became a mod for the community because of the dedication I had. Soon I was also given access to add maps (one of my favorite things done here), and in 2015 Nek passed the torch over to me due to him moving on in life. In 2017, I got a job that I still have as of today, and it's also an overnight job. Once that started my dedication and attention here started to slowly dropped before eventually tanking hard to what it turned into now... something that I'm absolutely ashamed of.

I'm sure some of y'all would want Nek back (or someone else) to take over given how I've treated things within the last few years, and that's fair. Y'all do deserve better than what I've done. I know things were better when Nek was around along with my first 2-3 years of being owner, and I really wish I could bring more dedication and time here and bring it back to those days (or close to them). This was the first major KF community I was a part of, and I don't want to be the reason to lose it all.

Once again I am so sorry for the current state of IGC.

Servers Migrating to New Server Box

Good day, IGC!

As the title says, the servers will be moving to a new server box/host within a timespan of a few days depending on how long it takes to set everything up on the new box. As usual, the IP's will change once more, but hopefully we can set the locations up better so it's always the same regardless of when we migrate around. All stats and files will be saved prior to the move, so there is no need to worry there.

Given that, ALL of the servers will be shut down as close to NOON EST as possible depending on how the last game goes on server 1. Once they shut down, there is no guaranteed time frame of when the servers will return, so please be patient as Thomas and I go through this migration process and allow ourselves to get the servers back ASAP for you guys.

Hope it all goes smooth, and I hope for more good things to come when it's all said and done.

Summer ZED Event + Updates

The Circus ZEDs have returned to gore you all to death while also freaking you all out! Can you survive this time? Let's find out!

Also, much needed updates for veteran perks have FINALLY been applied to all servers, so please go check them out.

Cracking down on Weld Farmers

First and foremost, I do want to apologize for my lack of activity since my last update back in February. I've just been enjoying other things in the off time.

Back on this topic, I've had some situations brought up to me about players using empty servers to AFK-weld and farm their exp without letting the game progress in any way. This has caused players joining to sit there and wait to actually get in only to be met with a player AFK-welding in the server preventing them from actually playing the game.

Because of these situations, I am now cracking down on those doing this and having their welding EXP reset if repeatedly done even after being punished before. Even if this isn't enough, I will remove the welding requirement all together (or at least remove the door welding from EXP earning). I really don't want to go to that level, but if it keeps up as it is, then I'll have no choice but to take that next step.

Don't abuse this by preventing any progression of the game and preventing other players from joining/playing!

Major updates are LIVE on all main servers!

The major updates I've been working on in the Dev server for the last 1 1/2 months have now been applied to the main servers as of today!

Testing Big Updates on Dev Server, Testers Welcome!

As of now, I am removing the password for the Dev server to allow for players to test what will be a BIG update coming up in the near future. I am doing this to allow for feedback at its current state so maybe things can and/or will be updated for the better when the update goes live.

Whether or not you'll love the changes, that'll soon be determined if you check up on server 6! I hope to see many testing to help out. Catch you there!

Hillbilly Horror Event - October 12th to November 12th, 2018

The Hillbilly Horror ZEDs have invaded IGC once more for the Halloween season. They're taking over on server 1, 4, and 5. Try to stop them at all costs as I heard they'll be extra nasty this year!

Summer Event Ending/Servers Updated

For server 1 and 4, the creepy circus ZEDs have gone into hiding to allow the originals to once again roam and chase you all down with the purpose of killing you, but you can still see the circus ZEDs over on server 5 (Achievement) until the 19th.

It has been a while since an update was done, but certain circumstances has called for me to have this one done.
