Video Explanation

Card Creation Contest Rules:
Design a card that is at least 2 purity into Flame Dawn and costs at least 7 resources (one design entry per contestant).

You have until the end of the month (February 28th) to submit a design. I will choose the five cards I think are the best designed, and then viewers will vote on which of the 5 is the best. The winner will receive an alternate art Martyr Golem and runners up will get a booster pack.

Image submission are preferred, but you can submit a purely text card design. Use any methods you want, but there is a template for creating cards in this discussion on the forums for those interested: http://forum.lightmare.com.au/index.php?topic=65755.0

This is a massively positive change for new players and old alike! I am super excited and glad that ES is making a strong impact.

I am going to be saving up for the DoD deck, are you going to buy decks and which ones are you excited to try?

Xi Ascended, Jubalia, and Tyra are all very good powerplay cards against control/defensive decks. I would consider even running 1 or 2 Xis or Tyras maindecked because they are decent even against non-defensive decks. They are not as flashy as Rancid or Equilibrium, but I think they are much more consistent. One thing I will say about Rancid though is that it doubles as a anti Sleeper card by removing their graveyard (I still like the other cards I suggested more though).

A couple more thoughts I had (not related to the question) are that you could add more Mysterious Boxes. It is just a really versatile card; even when you don't have a good reason to use it on your opponent's characters, you can use it on Lucca or Rita to get their effects a second time. Also, if you are finding that Flame Dawn is giving you trouble, Zealous Protector is a very good option against them (having Daclerius in the command zone does mean that you are pretty well off against Flame Dawn already though). One more thing is that I think Heaven's Assistance is better to have on the sideboard because it is not a consistent card: against some decks it is amazing, but there are also decks that just don't use many characters.

Lastly, I will say that even though I have suggested a ton of cards, in the end a lot of this will come down to preference, and no matter which cards you use, it will be best to keep your deck at or close to 40 cards to maximize your consitency.

So my argument for using another Lucca over Guns of Goliath would be that you can just play agressively with your Lucca's until they die if you have an extra copy in hand. This could mean just leaving her in the assault zone, or using her as a blocker and letting her die that way.

I think Candit is a solid commander, but Rita let's you generate value at every stage of the game for a minimal cost (because her ability can be used from the command zone). Candit draws you two cards, which is great, but when you think about it, Rita creates cards, which is a comparable effect. I would reccomend trying Rita in the command zone and moving 2 (or some other amount) of Candits into the deck. Test playing with that set up for a bit, and if you don't like it as much, you can always revert back to the original commander's you were using.

The decklist looks pretty reasonable to me. The changes I might suggest are removing Guns of Goliath and Leader of the Charge (just like you suggested). Adding one more Lucca Ascended and another Lightning Blast as a replacement for at least some of these. Lucca Ascended is basically better than Guns of Goliath 90% of the time, and Lightning Blast is a super fool proof card.

Another possibility is to put Rita Mistress of Shadow iin the command zone and move Rita (or more than one Rita) into the main deck.

Tier Level: Meme Tier

Super fun deck that makes use of the card Madness! Play your Hungry Abomination, give it Unstoppable, and discard a hand full of fatties with Madness to get a sweet one shot kill.
