Yes, for all workshop. I can't say too much now because the features I have planned might change, but the intent is to give the player full control of what gets updated when, and what versions of what mods to run.

The Harmony redesigned will continue to be developed and be released at Github. (latest release[github.com]).

It appears that the Harmony (redesigned) mod has received a complaint about DMCA copyright infringment. (I believe it is frivolous)

As an open source project based on my own work, and other open source projects specifically licensed under MIT open source licensing terms, this complaint is laughable.

I have not yet seen the complaint that Valve has received, and github, where the full source is published, has not yet posted a similar notice.

Based on the smell of it, I'm guessing that Felix Schmidt (aka boformer) of Colossal Order is hard at work trying to remove me and my work from existence, for reasons posted HERE[archive.ph]. It's telling that he didn't think there was a copyright issue when he learnt of the project, or when he decided to ban me for doxing, but only when he saw this group pop-up, which he cannot ban. This is what desperation looks like.

For now, one thing is certain, I am under full attack by Colossal Order, for standing in their way to exploiting you (and me).

If you are just joining, CO is not allowing me to post anything in their walled garden (the CSL forum and workshop), so I'm unable to provide any support, comments or anything at all over there. If you want to get in touch with me, it needs to be out of CO's reach, ie. here.

I will let Valve do its investigation, and will update this thread when I know more.

Since I am unable to answer your questions in Colossal Order's forum or workshop, please know I've been reading your questions. If you're just joining, please find below my answer to your latest query, in no particular order, so we can get up to speed quickly:

@asterisk11231 - you are incorrect. Load order problems are bugs in the various mods. Neither game nor steam promised any particular order, so any mod that makes assumptions about its load order is a bug waiting to happen.

@Angius - Switching to Harmony redesigned is as simple as unsubscribing the old harmony and subscribing Harmony redesigned, but please read Known Issues, How to react to missing dependencies, and know that Harmony redesigned will report mod bugs that the old harmony ignores. Many of these bugs are not mod breaking, and should be fixed in time as mod authors become aware of them and clean up their mods.

@fahlker - There is one testimonial that Harmony Redesigned works great on Mac, but more feedback is wanted. I am unable to test on Mac.

@Sparktite, @Useless Noodle, @E6GSY, @balmerjd, @pankajsethi87 - your missing dependencies are not new, but are newly reported (old harmony just doesn't care). See How to react to missing dependencies for an explanation, and generally you should complain to the respective mod authors for the loose ends, but your game should not be any worse due to the missing dependencies than if you used the old Harmony. These have problems that have long plagued the workshop, but I elected to surface them with Harmony redesigned, in the hope that they will be cleaned up and the quality of the workshop will improve.

@Leonhard.oiler - The Harmony Report should contain a one line summary of these "Prohibited global UnpatchAll()" errors. The detailed technical description[github.com] explains what they mean, but in short, Harmony Redesigned stopped EmployOvereducatedWorkers from doing something illegal due to a programming error in that mod. You should report the bug to the EmployOvereducatedWorkers author, but the issue should be handled in your game. The harm it would have caused was blocked by Harmony redesigned.

@YuLun - MOM suffers from the same "Prohibited global UnpatchAll()" issue as above, but otherwise it should be completely compatible with Harmony redesigned. If you do see any thing strange in MOM please open a thread.

@YuLun - LoadingScreenMod shows some exceptions related to loading custom content that I haven't seen before. Would you mind posting the full log file? The Harmony report only includes a one line summary per exception.

I know there may have been more answers or feedback, but in their hateful haste, Felix Schmidt (boformer) and his employer, Colossal Order expunged every post I made or thread I created in the CSL forums or workshop in its entirety, including responses from other people. Please post your question here in this group, again. I apologize sincerely for the inconvenience.

If you disable the Harmony mod, all other mods that require use of the Harmony library will fail with "Harmony is disabled" if they attempt to use the library.

This feature is mainly useful for developers to test if their mods are partially functional if Harmony is unavailable. A well written mod should not crash and burn when this condition happens. If there is some function the mod could offer to the end user without having the benefit of patching, it should do so, otherwise, it could log some actionable message to a log, if appropriate, but in no case take down the whole game due to their failure.

This error can also occur if there is some conflict with harmony itself, in which case it will chose to remain disabled, rather than behave unpredictably.

It is easier and quicker to diagnose a problem that is reproducible and unambiguous than one that happens intermittently and unexpectedly. In this case, Harmony is just making it easier to find and fix the issue than the old Harmony.
