New TeamSpeak3 Server

So due to issues addressed in YaoYao's thread we have set up a new server for voice chat. The new server is a TeamSpeak3 server and you will need to download the TeamSpeak3 client to join us on the new server.

Server Info:
Host: ts.gamerapoc.org
Pass: same as Ventrilo (ask myself or someone else what it is if you do not remeber or find it on our forums in the Lobby Section)

The Ventrilo server will be phased out as time goes on, remaining up only to redirect people to the TS3 Server. So make sure to migrate to TS3 and tell everyone else to. If you need any assistance setting up, contact King or YaoYao for help.

New Vent Server?

We've had the same ventrilo server (and so the same address) for years now, and we've resisted changing anything that would force us to have new info that people would have to look up.

However, with all the issues of late it may be time to look at other server arrangements.

My thoughts are to keep up the current server at a reduced capacity (as a placeholder/billboard to point people to the new server) and look into a more reliable server.

Ventrilo Downtimes, End in Sight

As I'm sure you've all noticed, there's been some frequent, and obnoxious downtimes for the Ventrilo server recently. It most certainly hasn't gone unnoticed, and I've been working with our provider to find a fix for the issue.

The cause of all the outages has been DDoS (childish hacker(s)) targetting a differerent server at the same physical location of ours.

I was talking to our provider about moving the location of our server to get us away from the problem, but they've come up with another solution: "We apologize for the problems and want to get this resovled now and will be moving that customer [the target of the DDoS] to their own IP so it stops effecting our other customers."

I'm really sorry for all the downtimes, and I want to let everyone who uses the server know that I'm well aware of this problem, and going to get a fix as soon as possible, even if it means switching server locations or providers.
