Student Organization from Houston Community College

Attention members of Game Creators Association,

It is on this day of June 21st, 2011 that I regret to inform our members that the student organization that we have built through the dedication and support of it's officers and members will be coming to an abrupt end. I have been instructed by our outgoing Department Chair, Reni Abraham (more on that later) that anybody that is interested in attending this year's upcoming Game Developers Conference in Austin, Texas (October 10th - 13th) would please inform Richard Garcia or Luis Sandoval. We ask that people that are serious in attending the event are to seek either individual as we will give you the funds necessary to pay for your badge.

I would also like to take this time to inform our members that due to a merger with two other departments, a new Department Chair has been selected. As officers, we express our regret that this new department chair isn't the same person that has helped kickstart our organization.

On behalf of all members and officers (past and present), we wish Mrs. Reni Abraham all the best in her future endeavors. Thank you for the creative vision you have set forth. Your initiative towards our student organization had allowed us to not only network with each other but also with other students attending different HCC campuses as well as meeting the video game industry's finest and brightest talent on this side of Texas and abroad.

Finally, to our members and officers, past and present: Thank You. Each and every month we have hosted a variety of Game Nights and fundraisers which in turn have funded the opportunity for you, the GCA member to attend such events as Austin GDC (now known as GDC Online) to network with recruiters and game developers from Texas and abroad in order to get your foot in the door. As officers, we do not regret any one second we had sharing the experiences we had through our Game Nights. The tournaments have been hard fought and enjoyed by many. Our bases have been taken, we've been fragged, sticky grenaded, Uno'd, and blue shelled many times.
