Sorry about your grandma, rezzy. We went through that with mine about a year ago. She pulled through it, I hope yours does as well.

In the meantime, I can do a bit of organizing if someone has to. I DON'T WANT TO so if someone else could, that would be great. =)

Additional: My grandmother has just suffered a stroke and has been in and out of the ICU and we're fearing the worst. I may need to bow out to fly to Germany at pretty short notice, so it may be best to hand the Team Captain title off to another member.

Man, we have a lot of heavies and medics. I'm going to have to learn a skill class, aren't I?

I think we should set up a scrimmage with one of the other teams so we can figure out what each of us wants to play and how we fit together. Rezzy, can you or one of the more longer-tenured TF2ers set that up for us? I play BF with some of the guys but I don't think I know anyone well enough to get that going.

Unless we want to play my DoW2 players. I can probably steamroll them into playing TF2 for a few hours.

I'll be on vacation May 21-June 1st... I didn't expect this 'summer' tournament to move so quickly. I hope the games don't start by then. When I'm back I'm totally in. Maybe I can get a scrimmage in before then. I'm Central time and usually can be on 7:30pm till am (8:30 EST).

I'm best as Medic or Heavy, followed by Engineer or Pyro, neither of which I'm great at but I have a general idea of what to do and how to do it. I'll play whatever's needed, though. :)

I'm probably best as a medic, but I like to think I hold my own as a scout. The glory days of Unreal Tournament helped make twitch FPS gaming second nature.

Sorry, I'm on vacation this week with a Verizon broadband card. I just fired up Steam online, instead of offline. I gravitate towards sniper, but I can do engineer or medic too.

I'm CSD (Iowa), so it sounds like we'll have a nice range of messed up times to play.
I generally gravitate towards Pyro/Direct Damage. Point and shoot classes. Heavy, Soldier, with occasional rounds as a sniper, but I have a little time with all of them. Enough not to fall on my own sword at least.
I'd be up for finding a place to play a bit and get communications established.

My primary class is pyro. Unfortunately, my style of pyro is not very "team-friendly" in that I play it more as an attack-style class (I use the BB mostly). I'm also a pretty good heavy (with good medic support), a good medic, and a fair-to-middlin' soldier, and fair-at-best demo.

Looks like I won't be playing medic. This is fine, everyone should be using a class they're comfortable with. Can you guys spread the word and we'll try to get together tonight or tomorrow?

Medic is far an away my best class (I think) though I am more than willing to try something else for the good of the team.

Yeah, looking at the teams I think we have a really good chance of going far. As for classes, Medic, Heavy, and pryo are my best classes.

Not very serious but given that we're a community of 1500+ people and I play battlefield with the majority of my team already (and they're better than me), I kind of expect to win here. Let's make that happen, shall we?

i've invited everyone but crespin, nuean and NSMike. I couldn't find the first 2 in our group and for some reason i can invite Mike to eveery group i'm a part of but this one.
