Well, seems like tomorrow and 13th December wins for the reunion (equally). Since the people are not consistent, I will be playing on both of those days and on the 20th December as well, and who has time, join in for some fun.

The poll is now up in the discord server but for those not there, options are 29.11, 6.12, or 13.12.

I will also mention it here for people that are not in the discord server but still interested. The plan has changed for a casual meet up at an empty or low pop casual server. In the next few days, I will make a poll to see who can join when and the date with most participants will be the meet up. I will then publish the date here as well.

I was hyped for the idea at first, but putting in that much effort for a 1-2 day revival isn’t worth it. I figured work would chill out after summer, but nope, I’m already booked with projects until the end of next year. And starting December I have to additional take over as technical team lead for five months. I’m tired just thinking about it. So in my free time I’m trying to relax and chill at a game every once in a while and not fight script issues.

Anyway, so my idea is dead, but it wasn’t even PonPon’s (Marigold’s) original idea. So if he’s still down to organize something on someone else’s TF2 server, this year or next, I’m in!

Hello there, sorry for going radio silent for a while. I spent a whole weekend trying to resurrect the old WOBRE #1 server, but it was bad. After Valve dropped the 64-bit update last year (which basically nuked every extension we used) AND dealing with all the new Sourcemod compiler changes, I honestly can say… yeah, nah. It will take me like 2-3 weeks just to get most crucial plugins working for #1. Every time I fixed one compiler error, five new ones come out like ♥♥♥♥ a doodle doo. At one point I had 70+ errors thrown at me. Absolute chaos.

I made a temporary discord server for the possible get together before ED-E offered to revive one of the original servers, moving discussion here. If you guys are still interested in the DC server, I can post the link again.

There was like 2 or 3 attempt to revive the server as far as i remember, all of them ended up like that. People just move on, it happens

That discord server was indeed administrated by (former) Spoiper. Most / part of the staff from Wobre were "transferred" / joined willingly into that server and even ED-E approved and contributed to the idea of this server as far as I remember
The announcement was given in this discussion , but it was indeed shut down after a couple of months or so due to the lack of playerbase after the first month / weeks, and if I remember correctly, it got closed also because of the drama created within the server.

there used to be a discord server, i forgot who the owner was, i think spoiper or smt, i wanna say ED-E but im pretty sure it wasnt them, but it got abandoned or deleted some time ago, i just tried looking through my discord but i couldnt find it, likely unfriended me over the years or had a name change so that i dont recognize them.

For the discord server, I don't know about it, althought there was an announcement relatively long ago about a discord server with plans for the 1/2-day/s wobre revival, but the link to it expired.
As for the "another server" part, ED-E said that there's a chance that this year there will be either a day or two (depending most likely on how many people actually show up) W1 - Sop that tank server and potentially W3 - Freak Fortress, but this only applies if Appel or M7 want to collab again for this event.

Long story short is pretty much explained here. The first "deadline" for the event was either end of June / July, but it got postponed to end of the year due to ED's lack of time to check up throughly on the stability of the server, and because most of the plugins from the 2017-2020 era is rather outdated and doesn't work anymore.

Hey thanks for your kind words Marigold! We'll see, in worst case we come together on another community server and if its just a small amount of people i throw some free rounds in MvM.

I really look so forward for the official community MvM update, it always bugged me that Valve stopped extending it over 10 years ago, despite the community made some stellar maps. If they throw in some more Australiums and cosmetics, Ill check it out for sure.
