Why does Canada even have a massive Army, probably 500,000 men (Regular and Reserve) should do it, and possibly an establishment of an Auxiliary Corps to "guard" the Northern Wastelands

Full mobilisation makes the Quebecois get rather angry. I really suggest keeping an army the size of one of your army groups and then have militia for auxiliary use.
