Flashbang grenades weren't originally called flashbangs. After protoype testing and loads of missed throws, they were aptly named after what the user would do after missing their target, that is, "drop a faak" (followed by the bang of the grenade). Faak bang, or f-bang for short, was later renamed by the commie cybercapitalist politically correct police to "flashbang".

The more you know. :csgostar:

In a peculiar event, a rare "double faak" was heard by the IFV gunner Wewke. He describes sitting in the rear gunner seat of a Chinese IFV when suddenly two planes appear. One Chinese, one Russian. The two planes were approaching each other head on. It seemed like a chicken race, and not unlike chickens both the pilots were quite unintelligent. Too late, both pilots realized they could not avoid full frontal collision. They both braced for impact and simultaneously uttered a loud "FAAAK".

Wewke was later diagnosed with a rare form of PTSD as he was unable to stop laughing even years after the horrific event.

A predecessor to the term "faak" was heard when the famous Soviet helicopter pilot Nikolai Aleksandrovich Hanzhuk crashed his helicopter on a fire-extinguishing mission in southwest Soviet. As his helicopter's rotor hit a construction cable, a loud, drawn out "фахак" was heard over the radio as the helicopter and Nikolai plummeted to their death.

Little known fact: The expression "faak" originates from the well-known helicopter pilot Dryg. The expression was first coined when Dryg supposedly found his helicopter steering into a mountainside following after a particularly heavy lag-spike. Dryg uttered the word "faak", followed by a distant explosion, as heard by the legendary warrior Brelke.
