Once you pull off the trick, assign it to a movement like left + 0 (xbox controller) etc.
The beauty would be that everyones tricks would look different and unique, no limit on what tricks there are to learn and the learning curve would be realistic-ish.
Co-op could be a shared skatepark, could have competitions etc.
'Attack' and 'Lead', having finished the bulk of the swarm have exited vehicles and doing clean-up around the entrance.
All peeps on bus, area devoid of zombie scum and a job well done.
Was thinking the general tactics used could be 'drawn' at base with a little editor, and when in the field could be pulled up for a holographic-esque HUD overlay. Showing other players their roles and group responsibilities.
Just an idea =)
A police car with sirens blaring as a 'Lead',
A Truck with modified bull-bar as 'Attack'
and a Bus as 'Ferry'
Now, say in a multiplayer game your group needs to extract people from a school surrounded by zombies, you pick who wants to ride in what kind of vehicle and you roll out.
Upon arrival you notice there are way more than the standard amount of zombies (hence the MP mission tag) Realising this, the 'Lead' (sirens) begins to lure the swarm of zombies down the road with loud noises and pretty lights.
The 'Attack' (Truck) car which slunk away during the great-misleading, circles around a block or two away and loops around, hammering towards the 'Lead' car as it pulls out of the way at the last minute, allowing the 'Attack' car to PLOW and begin the carnage.
Just need to proritise the static and non-static world objects I guess. Maybe if the environments are hand-drawn, and the characters, vehicles and whatnot could be basic models with the same color palette, like bastion. If were still looking at Iso-view that is.
The cyberpunk/zombie idea could be pretty cool. The antagonist of the story could be anything from a virus or a "terrorist" type groups hacking attempts. (Assuming people were implanted to some degree)
To use them as proxies like Deus EX. Withdrawal of the hack leaves them zombified or something similar. Almost reminds me of the matrix and how the 'agents' could be anyone O.o
For a bit of insperation for an interesting steampunk style of game, check out E.Y.E Cybermancy, Its nothing to full on but i think its what we'd be aiming for (or at least one level / mission) to start with.
They also have alot of predefined back storying being that they evolved like D&D from paper and dice games, which if you download any of the tabletop mission guides is a great way to have every thing we need to get done already noted down along with the balancing of classes and items / weapons and abilitys already in place through multiple generations of rules and refinment.
Baph and I where discussing a game concept today which has really got my intrest going and I've been tossing ideas for storys around in my head, But if he is keen I'd like him to bring it forth as it was his idea =)
Future and post apoc era games are story wise some of the easiset to setup as it dosnt relate to anything we have to day aside from our imaginations which is what we have the full capablity to release should we follow this road.
made some good cyberpunk RPG memories right there =)
Im always partial to a good zombie or straight up survival game,
and the only thing I like more than that is Futuristic style games.
And being all the more better as co-op.
Im still blundering along in Zbrush, but have wanted to give sprites and basic environments a go being a traditional pen/paper artist mostly.
These two themes will bring excellent inspiration while practicing,
Ill muck around with some 3d and 2d models etc. so whatever direction it ends up going, hopefully ill have something to add =)
Thanks $yN
