I manage a group involved in preserving MMORPGs and related virtual worlds. I maintain a private archive that's around 200-250 TB altogether of multiplayer and MMO-related files. It's ridiculous how many MMORPGs are currently unplayable, with quite a few having nearly no record of them having even existed.

I'll make a quick list of 20 of them that are in questionable states or have an interesting story. Sorry if you covered any of these already...

i may or may not be use full in helping but i do like this hunt of games that been given up on. i own a few games and a few that been left to rot.

Hey man, I commented on this Early Access game Tyran and got permanent ban. Long story short, developer posted news saying "Oh sorry guys, we are back now" and that's it. No important information at all. So I asked them, maybe like say what you have been doing for the past 2 years? Why wasnt there any updates and when are some updates gonna show up? And WHAM BAM they put a permanent ban saying "personal harrasment". The ban game is real there

Every time I come across a page or site that still receives payments for projects that will never see the light, I feel sorry for the industry, and rage against the scammers. These practices are not only illegal but deeply immoral, and hurt everyone: devs, stores and gamer community alike.

Nobody is exempt from having a setback, a delay, a financial tragedy, especially in these times. Devs are also human, and personal tragedies may occur that may slow down or cancel a project. And in these cases there is no shame in taking a step forward and communicate to the backers and buyers that a project will Not be finished, returning the money. It's a legal and moral duty. It's a matter of ethics.

What is unforgivable is to disappear, escape with the money, without giving an explanation to the backers and buyers, and to the entire community through press, videos, stores and social media. So, thanks again.
