Requiring the launcher for cosmetic DLC is unfortunately not uncommon on GOG and even Cyberpunk 2077 has some content like that so they tolerate it in other publishers as well.
Problem is, Doom apparently also locked a bonus classic level behind that requirement which prompted our members to contact GOG and why the company is investigating for a better technical solution in this case, I suppose.
GOG said they would try to improve the situation but we'll have to wait until next week to have actual details.
If you're interested in talking about this topic more freely, the Discord server for the group is the place to do so.
They sold *reads notes* 3k copies in total.
They really showed those pirates who's boss!
According to this Steam review. The devs sneaked in Denuvo.

Denuvo message on the store page.
Bandai Namco still...
Free To Play also which is confusing
My guess is it was automatically or unintentionally listed.
And yes I do have the feeling that many companies dislike Steam, because it's one of the platforms that not only allow us to play downloaded game, but also allow us to have more control, until the publishers themselves step in that is.
In case anyone's wondering, I thought CV II was Castelvania II and was wondering why Bamco was doing it when it's a Konami product. That's also older than me...

Square Enix stuff shown at today Nintendo Direct
They fully embraced and force censorship, fully aligned with d.e.i. policies.
Look no further from CV II which, good news, sales bombed.
Japan game devs are fully infiltrated and compromised.
But, we are about Denuvo DRM here so I won't comment more.
The Denuvo contract for the Resident Evil games must be really weird seeing how they only remove it when the next one releases... I wonder what kind of benefit they expect for keeping it that long?

Denuvo Removed, added DRM The Enigma Protector
That likely pushes them to prioritize quick, short-term results to keep shareholders happy, at the expense of goodwill, reputation, and - most importantly - the long-term sales tail, which on PC is just as important, if not more so, in many cases.
Seems like they had quite a shift at the top so could be: new management, new rules
Bandai Namco spent six years not using it on a single game realizing their best profits to this day and amazingly, they still go back to treating their customers like thieves.
