I might try and put the DM server / freeflight up again later today / tomorrow if I get the chance. Jump in and have a fly around! You don't need to be any good. You can just practice in the zone if you wish (as long as op doesn't join). Some random guy joined the other day and we ended up doing formation flights and ground attack without ever speaking.

Ive got it from the DCS Store and enjoying it heavily. Got the cold start all handeld and now just trying to learn the basics of flying. It aint easy but it sure is fun!

Yeah, the X52, I use the pro, works well. Just don't install the software as it's awful.
Feel free to add people from the group as steam friends - it's much better to fly with people who know what they are doing. I'll be happy to help you out if you need assistance with anything.

Hey guys i thought i join the group to get a notification when there are steam sales for the Mi-8. Got no experience in DCS but high interest for flying the Mi-8 in the most realistic way possible . Anyhow what would be a good recommendation for a joystick to use if i buy the pack?

Had a great flight with [2RIMa]-волк5 (Wolf) yesterday. Ran the navigation mission from Batumi up to Sakhumi with me taking the lead. He followed perfectly in good formation all the way. Excellent flight. Hopefully we can do more of that soon.

A little off topic - but if anyone is interested in building a mission for the mi-8, I would recommend delivering ammo and supplies for ground forces to get them operational. A great way for non-combat units to have an impact on the battlefield.

Hey Custer. The group is still active. I think most people are waiting for DCS 2 right now, which is a shame. The game is still more than playable in it's current state. I'd like to run a mission soon if people are interested. Navigation missions are always fun.

just started recently at the hip. only have a hour or so in it, but I can do circuits no problem. anyway. willing to try a bit of mp for formation practice, would help alot with getting smoother and more comfortable as well.

Thanks for asking about it, Hack. That mission has kinda been abandoned for now due to a lack of time. But I've been working on a secret Mi-8 project for a while now. News later. Definitely up to run a multiplayer mission at some point if I can generate interest. I really want to do a proper navigation mission with a group of players.

Working on a new Mi-8 focused mission. It's another escort style mission where you can team up with CA folks to take back a city. Mi-8's will be tasked with troop drop, rearming, medevac, recon and anything else I can think of. CA guys can control units to assist the fight on the ground. Will update you as it progresses.
