It's with a heavy heart that I have to tell you all, Cygnus is under severe financial problems and can't afford to work like it's been working. I've had to cut costs in a lot of places, such as moving the server to the old Alienware laptop in a far corner of my room. Please don't take this as a sign Cygnus is gonna die, 'cause I'm doing my best, guys. Cygnus'll be moved over to just one single server running QBox, same as always. I've also had to remove a few of the more stressful addons, like Wiremod.

I'm sorry about the downgrades and all that, changes will take effect in about a day or two as everything gets sorted out after downtime starting later today.

Significant fore work is being put into what will essentially be a persistent Survival server that will inevitably be set up for what I like to refer to as the Suicide Mission Gambit.

Prior to setting the server up for Stage III ( Survival ), I at least want to TRY to have everyone geared up with at least one ship that's survival capable and potentially self-sustaining, however this isn't REALLY necessary, just something I'd at least like to strive for. After all, losing even a single vessel is a colossal loss, but the more self-sustaining vessels we have, the less horrific each individual inevitable loss would be.

tl;dr:
- Open server to public, set to Survival
- Using only one ship per SE-savvy individual in the crew, the end goal is to set up a communications system spanning EVERY planet
- Set up defense arrays, outposts, etc. General faction presence accross every planet.
- Observe newcomers when they join.
- Create "The Institute" AKA Darklight Station, a hidden base far beyond the outskirts of the Sol System, for storing presently unused ships and the vast majority of resources intended to be explicitly used for shipbuilding.
- Create Jump Relay system allowing near-instant travel from any planet, to any planet. Let's hope the pubs decide to use the relays instead of destroying them...

Essentially, more crewmen for our ships would be quite nice. Especially gunners, fighter pilots, etc. People to help us maintain our relays, communications, and other such things accross the vastness of space.
The eventual hope here is that we could come together to set up a world of our own that we can be proud of, even if only slightly.

Some time around Christmas the addition of a Space Engineer server will replace the idle and usually unjoinable Garry's Mod servers.

This also implies the server will be relocated and online by this point.

Due to unexpected circumstances the actual server box itself is offline and effectively inoperable until further notice.
