In 2026. Time for some ummm confession. Amelia, even on its lower and slowest day, earns me enough so I could sit on my ass and do nothing for days upon days. Watch anime, play games, read books, and sleep, and do all the things I never had time, money, or energy for. And you know, before I started working on the game, that would be a dream come true. Finally, play the game of Life on easy mode, for once. But there is one problem. Ok, I lied, a few of them. Let's start with the biggest.

Yes. You. You are my biggest problem. Because you are alive. Because you love Amelia. Because you support me each step on my path. Because you DM me over and over. Read and thumbs up each silly news I write. You protect me. You support me. You make me feel like no one ever did. Sorry, I am fully aware how cringe this sounds. But oh well, screw you - this is how I feel, and if someone doesn't like it, you know where the doors are. What I am trying to say is - I care. I cared a lot.

But that was a very selfish care you know. I started making the game because dooooh - I wanted to make the game. It was not meant for YOU. At least, well, not initially. I wanted to create something, get myself busy. Make the sad voices go away. Keep myself occupied.

None of this was meant to happen. None of it. A silly and wonky passion project that was supposed to rise and fall, just like thousands of others. My tiny footprint on this globe. For the sake of having one. So when I die, someone could stumble upon my game and say, "hey, there was a girl named Laura". That's all I ever dared to dream of. I swear. But as the game grew bigger, so did my dreams. And with you all coming and staying... my dreams could be selfish... no more. So I was sitting and thinking hard and...

You know, there is actually a trick for money. You can try earning more by earning more. Or earn more by... spending less and being able to afford more.

It's an idea that's been sitting in the cooker since I met Vilehead. And it actually makes sense. By moving to Poland, I will be able to afford both a decent life and still have enough money to expand the game or even make another one. I'll be able to hit both birds with one stone. No more sacrificing one for the other. Of course, I still have plenty of details and paperwork to set up. I have only been outside my country like 2-3 times in my entire life.

So this is a huge and scary change. But hey, new year - new Laura. Being 25 years old is... about time I get out of my comfort zone. I think? If not now, then when...? Time to be the Brave Laura. The problem is - all I ever knew is how to be a coward. I am just so scared. But I know I need the change. Or maybe the change needs me...?

As requested, now it's easier to continue the conversations. I know there are some enemies of "press and hold" but this is actually the ultimate shield for missclicks. When troubleshooting, I would find myself in need of that "1sec hold" instead of just clicking. You can do so with SPACEBAR or X on the controller now. Hopefully now we have the best of both worlds yaaay :D

As requested. Some of you reported that the sound volume of Amelia talking vs... umm "having fun" xDDD kind.. a... not match. And yeah. Funny enough, it is my fault. Or should I say... YouTube's fault -_-.

You see, and take it as some sort of weird trivia, you noticed how YouTube is rolling more and more ads and how the ads are getting louder and louder vs the video audio volume? So I was listening to Moistcr1tikal video and suddenly and an ad (where half of the ad was AI-made) went KABLAAAAAAM, and I fell off my chair backward, launching my instant noodles (which I was slurping at the time) on my chest, face and head. And let me tell you this: hot AF noodles + long hairs = sad Laura.

So this is when I got a software called Sound Lock, and basically, what it does is limit the possibility of being blasted like that. You just set the upper limit for volume and never be blasted into your ears. Now, guess who forgot to turn that thing off when making a lewd game where half of the audio is talking, and the other is AAHHHH YESSS OOOOOOOH AAAARGH HARDER YEEEES.
Yup. MEEeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee....!~ ^_^

Long story short - I adjusted the volume across all the SFX, and now they should match each other. But if you happen to find something that doesn't, as usual - please poke meh ._. I like being poked.

🛠 FIXED | Turbo Toy Actions Fixed
Sometimes, when you switch between auto and manual too rapidly... the toy would turn into an industrial-tier jackhammer. Plowing poor(?) Amelia, like a woodpecker on cocaine. Weeeellllll, now that should either not happen again, or happen... less often? o_o Tbh, it's a very hard bug for me to track, so if you guys have some intel on how to replicate this occurrence 100% of the time, by all means, please, DM me.

🛠 FIXED | Content Revision
List too long, but a lot of the stuff was suggested by you. Stuff that didn't really fit the rest of the game. Like the used condom under the bed, some inappropriate images on the posters and photos, or Amelia saying "harder daddy". TL;DR I tried to make the game more coherent and consistent.

...and that's all for now. As discussed, I am now moving toward a 3-4weeks update schedule, to not get burned out. Expect some fat bombs dropping as the Winter Sale starts. It's gonna be my X-mas gift for you all :3

Just as Adult Games Week started, I got cold. Coughing, my nose turning into a gayer of slime, shivers - all the good stuff. What I should have done was to turn myself into a cocoon made of a blanket and hit the bed. What I did was work on Hot Fix (yes yes! the very same hot fix you're finally getting... today! D: ). What came next was only the obvious.

When my fever reached 40 degrees Celsius, I finally convinced myself to visit the doctor. After Ubering by shivering butt back and forth between my home, the doc offices, and the pharmacy, and then back home, I arrived with a grandma-worthy bag of pills and medicines you could probably pump an entire horse with.

Then I had a nap. Then I woke up. Then I started checking what's going on and hit that one review. Well, I am sorry. My emotions got the best of me. I am sorry for putting out a needless show. Should have been smarter. My skin should be thicker. For my defence, after an entire day of shivering and fever, my inner firewalls had been at their all-time low.

Negative reviews always hurt a bit, but they never leave a scar on me. I just take notes and try to do better. I know life is not all sunshine and rainbows. Trust me. I really know. I don't expect I have some sort of "free pass". A game is a game. Everybody has the right to be or not to be satisfied with their purchases, and it's my job to make it right. But yeah, this one made it to the last base. I'll do my best not not let something like this happen ever again. Sowwy T_T

Ok this one I am doing against his will. I would like to thank someone. An old and kind soul. He goes by the nickname of Vilehead. We bumped into each other in a gatcha game called Tower of Fantasy. I quit the game soon after. We grew a bond over anime, games, and movies. He is kind of a pseudo father figure to me now.

He helped me so many times this year I stopped counting. He told me to make an account on Newgrounds and helped me set it up and running. He helps me spread the news each update, hosts giveaways, do proofreading before I click the publish button, and he pre-tests the game before each update if he has the time. He even made my Twitter account (cuz Elon kept telling me I am a bot and to suck his ballz). Anything I do, create, post, or share - he pushes further and further. When I imploded last week, it was he who took charge of my discord server and kept it spinning.
And he never asked for anything in return.

And that is wrong.

I know he is gonna get mad at me for saying this, but oh well - thx Vilehead. And sorry, but just being grateful to you is just not enough for me. I want others to know too. You are kind. And kindness should always be recognized and visibly appreciated.

Of course, he is not the only one who helped me on this journey, and I am grateful to all my giga-chad helpers. But out of them/you all - he is the biggest. And I never properly thanked him.

You might have noticed on the storepage that in the field "Publisher" there is suddenly something else. That is no mistake or meme. The funny fact... that is not a publisher per say at all!

You see, at the time of the shared bundle with Pocket Waifu from JNT Games, there was a lot of back-and-forth brainstorming, and a wonderful idea came to life. You know how the majority of Publishers are kind a "painful necessity"? Because they feed on developers, but then again, it's borderline a miracle to successfully publish a video game in this day and age. So you kind a have to let them suck on you.

And this is where we had the idea... hey, what if we would replace Publisher.... WITH A COLLECTIVE?!?!? No boss, no nasty contracts, no selling your soul, no handing your IP to someone else. Just good old banding together, under the same banner. And this is how Horny Collective came to be. There is only me and JNT Games in there... for now. But we are reaching out to other devs, so who knows, our little gang might grow one day big enough to render publishers obsolete entirely!

It's not just so lame cross-promotion. It's the exchange of talents, experience, and knowledge. Remember when I told you why I don't have high heels in the game yet? because I suck at rigging. Sorry that this week's update is not so "flashy" T_T I underestimated how much time storywriting takes. I write it, then I edit it, then I correct it, then I delete it all cuz it's cringe or just leaves me unsatisfied, then I remake it, and so on. TL;DR writing takes A LOT of time and effort, but can't really be displayed on screenshots or gifs. :< And then to record VO for it is another week of work.

But trust me - I've spent each and every single bit of free time I had to work on it.
I am really having fun! Shame it's just not all that much... visual.

As I mentioned in past updates, I am focusing 90% of my horsepower on the story. Once it's done - expect further expansion of the game with clothing, hairstyles, new locations, accessories, positions, and all other good stuff ^-^

Also, wohow 2.0 Amelia just reached 100 reviews, and my DevPage has over 1100 Followers! :D

The main dish of this update. Be gentle and honest - it's been 10 years since I did proper writing. I am both super nervous and excited. I never told this to anyone, but I used to write a lot of romance stories when I was in high school. I actually dreamed of becoming a writer when I grow up >_< I never shared my work with anybody.

This here is me going back to my roots. But I have no idea if my writing is good or bad :< So have that in mind, but please give me your honest feedback too. I want to get better! Bear in mind, this is NOT the entire story. Only the first chapter. More to come soon.

The game grew, got many new locations, positions, toys, and I missed the fact that some of them were lewding air instead of Amelia XD Now it should be fine. But if you spot something "not going in" and it should - please report it to me. Moreover, now the goodies go deeper, the more fun Amelia is having >:3

Phew! Finally reached the >30 days milestone. As promised, now I am getting serious about focusing on expanding the game rather than making algos happy. I also finally got my first paycheck from Steam. Sadly, it's not the fattest one because that's only the revenue for 4 days xD But relax, it's normal. Valve calculates income month-by-month, and because the game had been released on 26th, there were only 4 days of income calculated.

But it's enough for me to pay off my debts and feel a bit lighter for a brief moment. I will be using the extra to get myself a new PC. My old laptop is really on its deathbed right now, T_T

I am also ogling a nice set of clothes for Amelia, and I am working with a professional music composer on an Original Soundtrack for the game. The latter will come as Free DLC, of course. In my spare time, I am trying to patch up an Artbook too. Same story as with OST.

About mobile/VR ports - I gave it a shot and... Well. As much as I hate it, the reality is... I am just not skilled enough for now. I borrowed Oculus Quest 2 and tried packing the game into both PCVR and Wireless VR. Besides the obvious, the game turning into a slideshow, I run into some major technical difficulties. Some shaders stopped working, and some scripts just refused to function.

Same story with mobile phones (for the record: I could test only Android builds. To test on iPhones you need to be an Apple official developer). I am just not skilled enough yet... :< But I might have found a solution...

As I mentioned before, I was approached by an awesome game dev team that has huge experience with both VR and mobiles. I shared my source code with them so they can try and estimate how much porting the game to those platforms would cost. Sadly, those things tend to be very expensive (we are talking about 30-50k USD per platform), and I am simply not earning enough to afford this right now. But they offered a combo deal where I would pay only a fraction of that, but would have to share the % of the revenue from the ports.

To do so, I would have to do the exact thing I've been saying I will never do - put the VR/Mobile ports as a separate game version. Otherwise, there is no way to calculate their % share. So I need your feedback on the matter.
How much would you be interested in PCVR/Wireless VR/Mobile version of DoA?
And would you consider buying it 2nd time, if it were excluded from the main game?

I really have no idea. I need your advice and feedback, guys. Bear in mind, this would not affect my own development. Quite the opposite. It would take a major load of work from my hands. Again, be brutally honest and transparent with you. Be my compass.

Yea. I still have those butterflies in my tummy. All thx to you. It's really magical, and it just refuses to stop. It feels like being in love, you know. I wake up with a smile, and with a smile I go to bed. I have little to no nightmares nowadays. Each day, when my shift ends, I am racing to my home and opening my laptop while still having my shoes and coat on.

I read your posts, comments, reviews, everything. I might sound like a broken record, but you REALLY have no idea how much it means to me that you like Amelia. As I said, half of Amelia is what I am, and the other half is what I wish I'd be. I am projecting myself into the game, and my projection is being loved (and lewd xD).

Not once, in my entire life, did I feel so loved and cared for. Ever. Even as a kid. It's like a dream. Dream of Laura. A dream I do not want to wake up from. My body is literally not used to all those feels. It's glitching from all this warmth. To the point, I often get whacked by impostor syndrome.

To further make it up to all the people who decided to support me on Steam - here's something extra. For now, they are 100% Steam Economy-based. Down the line, I want them to be visible inside the game. You get one random item from the list for simply owning the game. After that, you get another one every 30 minutes of playing the game, up to 4 times per day. Mind you, the time is cumulative. So you can play the game for 10 minutes x 3, and that will count. You can then sell the items on the Steam Market, and who knows, maybe even regain the costs of buying the game or going beyond.

Unity had been compromised, and welp - me using Unity went and rushed for a quick fix. Don't worry, I fixed it the very same day this news popped up. Hence, the delays >_> I had to crunch HARD. But hey, now you guys are perfectly safe!~ Yay Laura! ^-^

🛠 FIXED | Abnormal GPU Usage due to Vsync
I read reports that some of you have nightmarish GPU usage, turning the game into a slideshow. It took me 2 days to figure out, but I found the culprit and (I think?) got rid of it. Funny enough, the most affected GPUs have been from the RTX series. e.g. Nvidia 10XX and 16XX series didn't have those problems. The factor was in-built Unity Vsync. I had to get rid of it for now. But suddenly the game started working perfectly on all rigs I could test it.

🛠 FIXED | >2k display and Shaders
As some of you noticed, the game has been crashing on 2k and 4k displays. Well, no more! In other cases, it made Amelia's cell shader make her look... weird and glitchy. This has been confirmed to be fixed right now. But if you have any more problems, please, by all means, report them to me!

Still waiting for the next 2 weeks for the paycheck, so till then, I just have to go back to expanding Story Mode because it's the least expensive part. Sorry T_T After that, I'll go back and try to make the game have 100% support for controllers and Steamdeck. I also got in contact with some pros who might be able to speed up the process of Amelia getting new clothes and hairstyles. Sadly, their services are kind a expensive, so, as above, I need to wait for Steam's muneh. Here and now, I am more broke than I ever been before T_T
But worry not! When I am (sadly) very far away from being a millionaire, the chunk coming my way from Steam is more than enough to fund the further progress and expansion of the game.

Sorry, it took me 2 weeks, not 1 T_T I really wanted and tried pushing another update last week, but... well, let's just say the wind has been constantly blowing from the other direction.
Some negative reviews pulled the game score from "Very Positive" to "Mostly Positive," which instantly cut my organic reach. Then, Itch is getting DDoSed as we speak. Then, Steamfest practically killed the traffic on every single released game on Steam lol. On top of that - ARGH that Unity vulnerability >_< and then the glitching and then Item Drops got bugged too and I had to fix that and and and and...!~

I know you told me to chill a bit and recover, but that's... the sad part.
I can't. I've been told that the first 30 days on Steam are actually some sort of exam. The platform judges the games by the perspective of how well they are doing in their first 30 days since their release. And then they get a score. And that score is borderline impossible to change afterward. And guess what? I HAD NO IDEA ABOUT IT. So, for over a week since release, I've been just doing my thing. Adding stuff. And that was a mistake. Because content can always be added, but it doesn't really affect the reach or traffic I am getting from the platform. Hence, I had to flip it upside down and take support for Steam exclusive features as my main priority till the 30-day milestone. This intel comes from seasoned game developers who have been around for years now, so I do not have the luxury to discard their advice, even when I do not have any means to prove it true or false. Past the 26th of October, when the game is gonna get its internal score, I will go back to my usual updating schedule. So don't worry ^-^ I have to crunch now, but I promise I'll take care of myself past that point!!!

Another thing I would like to mention is... well, some of you approached me with many offers to support me financially outside of the stream. I am very grateful and I cherish the initiative on its own, but... No. Thank you. But no. I am a huge fan of the rule of Equal Exchange.
You pay for something - you get what you paid for. And you guys didn't even get that still. You paid for something + a lot of my promises. You paid for my dreams. Dreams of Amelia, to be exact XDDD Now it's my duty to deliver what you already paid. And as long as the rule of Equal Exchange is not fulfilled, I want to keep any external support to an absolute minimum. Notice how I, like, never mention I have a Patreon. I set it simply because I've been told I should. But I don't like the idea where you have to pay and KEEP paying, otherwise I go what? Wooosh and vanish? What am I? Netflix? Subscription-based service? No. Ok, I understand a lot of lewd devs are doing just that. I do not look down on them. But it's just not my style.
