New Owner - New Steam Group

Throughout the Months there have been many changes in the managment. As the third head dev in the line up I decided to make many changes. First off my first change was to make the server balanced by not having paid ranks. My second change was to allow commands based on utility and fun to be available for everyone compared to other servers which charge for this service.

I have also decided to create a new Steam group? Why? Because we are no longer Cryptic Technologies, the original name the server had. If you ask me that name is stupid af and we shall be known as Az Nation.

Minecraft 1.10 just came out and currently we are waiting for the server software to be available. It should be released by the end of the week. There will be an update post when it is on the server. For this update we will be doubling the world border to generate new terrain as well as a new spawn when it is available.

Summer Roadmap

Hello my people. Today I wish to just share some plans I have for summer updates. These all may or may not happen but if you have any feedback please let me know!

Azite (~12 new items)
Azite is going to be very rare new ore obtained via most blocks. The idea would be that this ore as described in the flavour text "is the fabric of this world." Azite tools would have special features exclusive to the tools as well as a few new items custom to azite.

The Summer Case (~16 new items)
The Summer Case would act like the cases found in CSGO however you can purchase keys via the market using Azcoins. These items would come in rarity and all items obtained via case openings will be sellable on the market. We hope that doing this would increase market use.

More Tools and Armour (~20 new items)
We could add tool and armour sets into the game such as Emerald however they would be pre-enchanted with enchants that newer players may find helpful.

Achievements
We could finally add the achievements update which as been delayed because fuck yaml. We would start out with about 10 to 20 achievements and add more every update.

The Legend of Az (~? new items)

New Spawn Contest
May as well change up the spawn this summer. This is currently a contest going on and I plan to end it June 14th. This date is subject to change.

New Staff Program
For the summer there will be lots of new players and therefor I would like to get as many mods up and running as I can and mods that have been around for a long period of time would get promoted to admins. Admins have the same commands as mods however have a few extra commands such as changing the time of day and the weather.

This is just a start of a list of stuff I wish to work on. As I said this is subject to change. Please PM me with any questions or ideas.

Server Spawn Contest 2 and Possible IP change

About 3 months ago we had our first spawn contest which a few players participated in and Freakshow711 won. For the upcoming summer I think it would be nice to have a change of scenery therefore I think it would be wise to have a new spawn. Introducing the Spawn Contest 2 where the winner will have their spawn showcased while the old spawn will be added to the reserves and known as one of the best spawns in history. (Thanks Freak)

Here I guess are a few guidelines:
There is no theme. Just make it look nice.
You can participate with as many people as you'd like.
If you wish to use playerheads ask Az for the heads.
Everything must be built in survival
The spawn will be World Edited to a different location if it wins.
The spawn winner may rent/sell parts of the spawn to others.
Winner will be chosen by staff.

Possible IP Change:
We may be switching hosts soon and along with it there will be a new IP. Please be on the lookout on the steam group and on the server for updates. Everything on the current server will be transfered over to the new server.

Introducing Az Coins

Hello,
Today we would like to introduce a new program that will add some gameplay to the server as well as helping out server funding. Introducing the new currency Az Coins will work as a method of server revenue, server money, and possibly other rewards.

Az Coins
Az Coins are obtained via watchings ads or by voting. Currently only ads are available with /ad. What you can do is open up the ad in a browser, mute the browser and continue playing on the server till the ad is over. The server will generate a bit of revenue and you will get 1/10 of an Az Coin. Az Coins via voting will be available at a later date.

The Market
The Market is a new method of letting players buy and sell items. Via the /market command players can look through the shops and/or sell items with Az Coins. When making market transactions 15% of the money is deducted as a "Market Fee." The market fee is added to keep the circulation of new Az Coins being created via ads and voting. You can still make private purchases with Az Coins with /pay and no market fee will be deducted.

The Server Ecosystem

Hello everyone.

Today I don't really have any updates to share as the whole new Az Coin system will be getting a whole dedicated announcement at some point this week introducing the currency. Today I wish to talk about some concerns with the server and maintaining it.

First off thank you to everyone who has played on the server or is still playing on the server. You have all been very kind. A big shoutout to our staff (Especially Freakshow711!) for helping keep the server maintained and healthy.

Currently on the server and many other survival servers there has always been the major problem with people coming and going. This server has been a pretty big victim to this as about a month or 2 ago the average players online was about 3-5 and now most of the day has no players. I would like to think that this is just because of the school year ending for most users however I have no clue.

Anyways this server has always had such a great community but I find it sad how dedicated players have been leaving. I understand that you guys cannot control it and I'm not going to do anything to force you on the current server as I understand everyone has their own lives. It's just that it's been hard trying to maintain a good playerbase. As it seems the other dev M0rse has left us probably for good all I can do is just try my best to keep the server updated. I don't want to shut down the server but I just don't want to pay for a server that only around 10 players play on.

Please don't see this annoucement as feeling bad for me or anything. I just wish to state some facts that have been bothering me over the past months. I plan to continue possibly updating the server over the summer when I have more time and I hope the server will grow during the summer.

Updated API to 1.9.4 meaning that you can now connect to the server with Minecraft 1.9.4.

This is just a psa that you will not be able to join the server with minecraft clients 1.9.3 and 1.9.4. To downgrade your client there is a guide here: http://www.howtogeek.com/203196/how-to-change-your-minecraft-game-version-and-set-up-profiles/

The only supported clients right now are:
Optifine 1.9 Ultra 1
Optifine 1.9 Ultra 2
Vanilla 1.9.0
Vanilla 1.9.1
