I still stream on Twitch.tv:
https://www.twitch.tv/coilgun
Only that the stream starts later now (about 16:00 - 16:15 GMT) and is a bit shorter because I'm trying to figure out a new schedule. The old hours were convenient for me way back in 2015.
I'm surprised anyone from the group is still interested in my stream. I even came to think that me stream wasn't interesting enough for anybody to come back to it. And I also thought that everybody had long forgotten about it.
Anyway, please check out my Twitch page if you're interested in the Space Engineers content.
About the Steam stream, I'll make a proper announcement and adjust the overview page later.
Today, I read a message on the web user interface, left by Nitrado, that the "last" update from the 22nd of October is, well, broken.
And to be more precise, the update is so broken that it has broken the dedicated server. (I wonder if it has broken all dedicated servers...?)
Needless to say, there is nothing I could do to fix this, nothing that Nitrado can do to fix this, either. And even more needless to say, we are A-G-A-I-N left on Keen House's mercy (the comodity they fresh ran out of).
Worry not, the server will be back up and running, the very moment (or several hours after) Keen House finally decides to fix their game.
On a good note, the connectors now stop pulling the ships back for a couple of seconds after they disconnect (their LED becomes blue). Oh, and the gattling guns are broken. Enjoy!
1. The cargo ships are not despawning. (Again.)
2. The pirate raiding carriers are not despawning either.
Or simply, the world just becomes clogged with carriers and cargo ships. They should be removed automatically by the game, but are not.
Until Keen Software House addresses this issue I have disabled the cargo ships.
I have cleaned up the savegame. But even though we now have simulation speed of 1.00 again, and maybe even mpore frames per second, the server still crashes from time to time.
I experienced an error 502 (bad gateway), so I believe this is an issue with Nitrado, not with just this particular server, and most definitely it is not caused by any of the players on the server.
Please, be patient. Tomorrow's a Monday, if Nitrado were too lazy to maintain their servers on Sunday, they will most definitely be fixing the issue during the business days.
To everyone who is in the group and playing on the Space Engineers dedicated server:
Please note that the server is not very stable, it is not shutting down because of my actions, and it is restarting seemingly at random. Please, be prepared for rollbacks. I understand that you feel frustrated. I am frustrated, too. It depends on Keen Software House to finally decide themselves to stop cranking hotfixes...
And yes, there have been THREE hotfixes for Space Engineers released today.
I have shut down the server because:
1. The world needs maintenance and,
2. There was a drone attack when the server automatically shut down to install the update. (Very fair, yeah right.)
The server will be back in somewhere between an hour and a couple of hours.
Thank you for the patience and understanding.
Although, the savegame is rolled back, I do not know how much, though.
Since I did not announce the IP of the server in the Steam group just yet, this is the IP Address:
134.255.209.210:27016
P.S.:
I'm really sorry for this situation, it is highly embarrassing.
Not even reinstalling the game on the server actually worked.
Fate has a wicked sense of humor because my internet stopped literally ten minutes before the scheduled start of the stream.
Nah i just update windows 7 see you guys when i got it!!!!!!
u can help me too
Considering that I am about to start raising money for renting a dedicated server, this would look like double dipping.
We could try and seek alternate solutions than just asking for free games. If you find the price of Space Engineers unbearable for you, please add a comment here.
It is not a server. It is a world I host on my computer for the duration of the stream.
The world is not open to public. I let only regular viewers join.
I also am thinking about raising money to rent a dedicated server. For that, however, I'll have to set up a donation button and a separate PayPal account first (for safety reasons).
The shutdown happened very shortly before the scheduled end of the stream and it wouldn't make any sense to attempt to resume the stream.
My sincerest apologies.
P.S.
I haven't forgotten about the suggestions how to assualt military ships, I just need somewhat more time to figure out a proper answer.
The new updae maybe fixes some lag; I have higher rate of framers per second. However the game now heavily throttles the simulation speed. The result of that is some really nasty stutter, even though the frames per second are two digits.
If it feels unbearable I could switch to another game until Keen House does somethign about it.
If that happens, I'll post another comment in here and will try to resume t he stream as soon as possible.
If the broadcast is suddenly interrupted the most likely cause is the new update being deployed. If that is the case, please wait for several minutes and refresh the stream. I'll also post a comment here.
I'll do my best to get the stream back up in the event of any interruption.
