Do what your heart wants and if it is something that you don't want then switch. See which one you like better like a testing period for your group.

Maybe... but, this is a group for trusted people, yet It would be nice if other people could join... I don't want this one to be large, that's what the Ultra-Create is for, I'm not sure.

Request sounds like a good idea, this way your gruop can grow and you have the say in who joins and who does not.
