HELLO. Welcome to my stupid ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ half-life 1 deathmatch (and HL2DM and CS1.6 Nipper maps) steam group. Aside from occasional games of HL1DM (and others), we're also gonna play some really old HLDM Mods. Here's some ♥♥♥♥ to keep in mind when dealing with old mods:

INSTALLING THE MOD: Easy. Just drop the main mod folder into your common/half-life folder, then restart steam to play it. If it's an installer, set the filepath to your half-life folder in your steam folder then. SIMPLE.

PLAYING THE MOD: If on the keyboard page of the options menu, all binding options are blanked out and nothing is displayed, DO NOT TOUCH ANYTHING IN OPTIONS. Doing so will overwrite your key bindings with this blank page, effectively wiping all your key binds.

SOLUTION FOR KEY BINDING ISSUES: If the default key bindings are really ♥♥♥♥♥♥ (just test them in singleplayer), copy over your config file from your common/valve folder, and use the console to manually set ♥♥♥♥ like custom key bindings for the mod or changing your name. MAKE SURE TO MAKE A BACKUP OF THE ORIGINAL CONFIG FILE! How do you find out what the custom keys are then??? Check the original config file. These settings are what the guy that made the mod was using so no doubt he had the custom keys assigned to ♥♥♥♥ in there. Some ♥♥♥♥ you might want to change via console is "sensitivity x" to set mouse sensitivity, and "net_graph 0" to disable any fps counter ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ that might be on screen.

HOSTING THE MOD: Can't host a server because there's no maps??? Go into your common/valve/maps folder and copy one map over from there in the maps folder in the mod. The default hl1dm maps are always in these mods, as the mod is simply reading from the valve folder. But due to recent valve ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, the create server window is unable to read from the valve folder. By copying over one of the original mods directly into the mod's maps folder, the create server window will have something to work with. You can then change the map to whatever you want after you load it.
