to the person below: The historical Buddha is thought to have died in India approximately 500 years before the birth of Jesus Christ. It's actually possible Jesus was influenced by Buddhist practice.

None of that matters, though. As famous Thai Buddhist master Ajahn Chah said: "All religions are rivers that lead to the same ocean. Those that can't see it don't have any light in their heart."

All that exists is impermanent; nothing lasts. Therefore nothing can be grasped or held onto. When we don’t fully appreciate this simple but profound truth we suffer, as did the monks who descended into misery and despair at the Buddha’s passing. When we do, we have real peace and understanding, as did the monks who remained fully mindful and calm.

I recommend you guys read ''The Book of Not Knowing: Exploring the True Nature of Self, Mind, and Consciousness'' even if not a Buddhist book per say , it will help tremendously with the suffering we feel in our daily life and also to help others to not suffer.
