The colors in the imoprter.[dl.dropboxusercontent.com]

Now i need to get the glass shiny or transparent or both, how do i do that?

yeah, i already knwo about alt+J, but even with this i can't do the remove edge loop correctly... :(
if there was a way i could tell blender which faces were quads , it would be grat, lot of work, but it would make easier to make the LODs for me

Edit: i found that there's a modifier that could work here, "decimate" modifier, the "planar" option seems to get down th polycount. however, i'll have to edit the model a bit after this because some things get messed up, but i'll try if i can do something

Edit v2.0: The "planar" option just reduced the polycount.. by turning tris to quads ¬_¬
BUT!!!! The "Collapse" option, however, has an option called "triangulate", which i turned on, and then i just looked at how the tris count got down... :D (it messed some part of the goggles a bit, but not much to worry about).
Time to test in-game on the importer!!!

now i only need to finish the LODs, edit the vmt or whatever i have to edit to make the glass a bit shiny, and i think it'll be finished

Also, i wanted to ask you something. Some time ago, i used ctrl+t to view the tris, but for some reason i had to go and i saved ant closed. now i have all the tris, and i can't use the "delete- ege loop" method to reduce the polycount. i want to know if there's a easier way to do it aside of merging the vertices by myself, as this way forces me to edit the UVs and that's annoying and very difficult to make it perfect.

aside of that, i don't know what you are talking about, so i can't help you. i tried searching but found nothing.

I think that there's no problem with improving someone else's work, but if you want to, it would be better to talk with the original creator first, so you cana void the "That waz mai idea u suker!1!!" coments.

Also, like Pinchy said, oyu never know if there is someone working on a hat that looks like your's, and with so many people working on workshop items everyday, it's very probable that there's someoone actually making an item that looks like yours. I found myself working on the actual item i'm doing , a hat for the scout, and a week or so later after begining i saw that there's an item in the workshop that is almost the same item but for the pyro.

I think the red one is more pinkish than red, and the blu is a very bright blue.. i'll try and then post here an image

the glass isn't going to be paintable, it'll be always orange (or the color i see that fits better)

Well, i was thinking on the textures (because i want to get a solid idea before starting) and i had an idea, i think it's good, but i want to know your opinions:
Make the hat part team colored, and the goggles of a very dark oposite team colored (like, red hat and dark dark blue goggles). Then the glass (it's plastic, but meh) would be orange and shiny.
Then, i had ideas too for when it gets in game (if ever), adding 3 styles, wich are only usefull when painting it:
1- Painting the item paints only the hat
2- Painting it paints only the goggles
3- The paint is applyed to both the hat and the goggles.
I'll give it a try, but if you have any better ideas, please leave them here
