thanks! But the transparency... if it's made the way you say it, it wouldn't be posible to make the hat paintable in just some parts and transparent in some parts... Maybe if you could have 2 alfa channels...

Lately i had some ideas for items, but most of them need special textures, like textures with a glowing piece or a transparent part.

So, i've been looking over the internet for any tutorials or guides on how o make glowing/transparent textures, but i can't find anything on the subject.

Does anyone know how to make them? is something related to the qc file, or something you change when choosing the texture in the importer? or what else?

so you don't know any other way aside of facial flexes? that's bad because i only wanted to paint sniper's face a bit, and that's too much work just for that... i'll do the rest of the models and if it looks too empty i'll try harder with the facial paint.

i have a question that i think that is related to this, so i decided to post it here instead of making a new discussion. I had an idea for a set for the sniper, but i want to make it have "facial paint".

The set itself is a hat and a misc related to camouflage, and i had the idea to add some green and black/dark green paint on his face, but i don't know how to do it. maybe adding some mesh over the actual face and making the texture fit the face color and then adding the facial pant over it?

yeah, none of them have the golden star. By the way, i posted this when i was almost finishing the model for the weapon, so i'm kinda dissapointed. but, on the bright side, the cactus baseball bate made me think about making a pyro hat, so it isn't everything bad!

But there are weapons in the workshop :S

and, it wouldn't be difficult imo, since the model i was making was suposed to have the same stats as the boston basher (it's a cactus)

but well, i'll stick to hat macking.

it's my second hat, very random, as most of the things i do when modeling.

it's paintable and it has 2 LODs, and it's very healthy!!!

i'm working on a model of a weapon for the scout, but in the beta importer you can only import hats and misc. Should i import it as misc? or how i'm suposed to import it?

Another question, if i'm not wrong, the polycount limit on weapons is higer than hats, right?
