Rigging model advice
Hey Helljumper, I sorted out the AO following your advice. Now iv got another problem. Theres one part of the model that keeps clipping through the shoulder however all the rest of the model seems to be rigged fine fine. Iv tried all the logical bones to avoid it clipping through the shoulder. I looked at what bones the scouts existing bag was rigged to and tried to do the equivalent for my model. nothing seems to work for me. any advice? Thanks

Im sorry i also forgot to mention i don't know why the texture of the belt isnt appearing when i textured it and saved it
Hm... this seems a little tricky. I'm pretty sure the default bag's strap is part of the scout and not a seperate model. How are other scout backpack's set up? Check the soda cooler model to see how they set it up. I'm assuming they just didn't have a strap at all.

You could always decompile a similar model to see how other people set up the rig.
Thanks for the reply. Everyone seems to just strap the model onto the bag. i cant see one model that involves a belt probably cause of the problem iv just discovered haha. I guess i could try and attach it in a similar way but it's ashame as it wont look as good. would it be impossible to do rig it correctly if there are no similar models? would it just take alot of trial and error?
It would be basically impossible without more bones to work with.
I managed to find a workaround for the belt that's allright. Just one last problem to solve before i submit. the belt texture doesnt appear in the preview bit of the importer even though in blender the belt texture appears. I havent come across this before and I am not sure how to fix it.

Thanks for all the help so far. I will make sure I add you to the Valves service provider list whenever i get round to submitting as couldn't have done it without the videos you made :)
Hm... you could try clearing all materials within blender (and also removing the image from the UV screen). Then reapply the image and create a new material to try to reset it.

Also thanks for listing me as a service provider! I really appreciate it ^_^
