Stuck before I can even begin

I'm following "HellJumper's Blender 2.5 Modeling Tutorial for TF2" and I noticed his cylinders look like this: http://i.imgur.com/gPkKBNY.png

However, when I select a cylinder, it looks like this: http://i.imgur.com/cI0G7CR.png
noticably lacking the middle vertice.

I have no idea what I'm doing wrong or how to get that middle vertice to show up. Can anyone help me out?

It's standart cylinder. Rotete and scale it. And helljumper in edit mode, you are in object mode. Tab to svitch mode.

Even in edit mode the middle vertice doesn't show up.

Just got my friend to help me. Being the idiot I am I didn't make the cylinder with the Cap Fill Type setting on "Triangle Fan", which is why that middle vertice wasn't there.

Sorry for the trouble!
