Hats not in the right position.

Ok so i have my smd files, textures, and backpack images. First thing i did was i made sure all my stuff was right by using the workshop, i even viewed the model and it was positioned right. Next thing i did was i compiled my model using Source SDK item test thingy. I then opened tf2 and went to the test map. After i loaded a bot with my hat on it, the hat was floating body length behind the engi bot.
The hat was perfectly fine when i viewed it with the workshop. But now that i use the item test map the hat it not positioned right.
If you need an image of what it looks like i could get one.
So any idea whats wrong?

Why are you compiling it using that? Use the beta compiler in TF2 please. http://psteamcommunity.yuanyoumao.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=155101824

I used the beta compiler but when i used that i was not sure where it saved to and how to get it into the item test map. But just to see what would happen i used the SDK item test and it saved it in the right place and was VERY easy to find on the test map.

Ok well i compiled it again using the beta compiler and i got the .zip file. There are several mdl files in it, which one do i use for the test map?

The compiler gives you a .zip file, but it also places the .mdl in your /Team Fortress 2/tf/models/workshop/ folder. Check there.

Ok i found and when i try to open it, the loading symbol by my mouse happens for about a second then tf2 crashes. I have tried several different times but the same thing keeps happening.
Any idea?
