Publishing New Item Error
I'm trying to upload a new item through the TF2 Beta Importer but I'm coming across an error. I uploaded an item awhile ago but I wanted to edit so I took it down, now I'm trying to resubmit it but it's not working. Every time I go to the Importer and upload everything I need and press Submit an error appears saying that it couldn't be submitted and check to see if another item has the same name. I've checked and changed the name of the item but the error keeps appearing. Can someone help me? please.

I've never encountered that error before. Make sure you are uploading .smd files for the model and .tga files for the textures (and backpack icon). Try switching your item from being a hat to a misc item (or vice versa). Also, just to be sure, make sure your compile name has no spaces (i.e. "exampleHat" instead of "example Hat").

I double checked everything and it's fine. I've changed the names to completly different ones and made sure the models and textures are the correct ones. I only have one item uploaded and I made sure they have different names. Another thing that has appear too is that I tried to update the other item I have and an error appears but it doesn't explain the problem.

I wish I knew what was going on... It might be a problem with TF2's vpk. Try verifying the game cache files.

From the Library section, right-click on TF2 and select Properties from the menu.
Select the Local files tab and click the Verify integrity of game cache... button.
Steam will verify the game's files - this process may take several minutes.
Once the process is completed, the Check Window will automatically exit.
