I'm shocked that is no Left 4 Dead 2 modding section whereas it is one of the game with the most custom models made with Blender tools.

Hey guys, I just started using Blender and I'm trying to use StudioDecompiler (the updated version of MLDDecompiler) because I can't get Crowbar, and every time I try to decompile a file, the program crashes and only loads the references for the ragdoll and the net. The rest is lost. Any suggestions?

I am trying to make a reskin of the YER, but I am having great difficulty with the actual qc creation and importing process. Is there any way anyone can help explain to me what I need to do after I have exported my smd and LOD smd. For WEAPONS, not hats.

hello everyone, i have a question that has been bothering me.
in tf2 when im at the very end of making a hat, i try to choose what texture i want to use. however i cant press ok.
simply when i press it it tells me that "vmt1 missing shader" and i cant apply the texture to it.
i even previewed the item and it worked well but has those ping and black boxes
help anyone?

I wanted to say thank you for the modeling tutorials on blender. I had a bit of experience of blender but I had no idea how to make a hat and import it. So I looked for some tutorials, and your videos were super helpful, pretty clear and simple. Great job :)

I have a question I was ganna mod for tf2 and I have all the mods downloaded (to make hats of course)so after looking in my steamapps I can't find my username file in there and the only thing close to finding anything to userfile is userdata with a bunch of numbers in it which is in the steam files outside of steamapps. Am I doing something wrong or do i go to Valve for this?

@stereojuice you can also hold CTRL or something and drag the triangle to pop it out into a completely new window. This is great for multiple monitor work.

@StereoJuice, you can create another window in blender easily, in your viewport up the top right, should be a small triange, pulling that to the left will drag out another port, you can then use this for UV texturing or whatever you want.

Does anyone know why an item would attach to the bone but the edges arent attaching properly to the model. It's a head peice to it has to attach to the neck of the model but it isn't.

Weapons aren't allowed by the new importer. I've explained this a few times in some discussion boards, but the basic premise is that Valve has a hard time with new weapons because they require so much more work to ship (coding new mechanics, balancing it, etc.)

So they no longer accept weapon submissions via the importer. You can still manually compile your weapon models and submit them as a .zip file (just know that it will have a 0% chance of shipping). When was the last time Valve added a new weapon via the workshop?

Hi I've been modelling hats to tf for a couple weeks and there's no problem with them. But how do I send weapon submissions to workshop? When I go to the ingame workshop submission thing it only gives me options to send a hat or a misc. Help would be appriciated!

im having issue putting the smd tools in blender 6.29. When i tried doing it in the user preferences the files doesnt show up and when i tried to do it manually by pasting the python files in the add on files of blender 6.29, it says unexpected error. can someone help me? :(

I was wondering if there was a way to use blender to texture your item for team fortress and load it in without having to use photoshop. Also, thank you HellJumper for your videos, they are extrememly helpful.

I imported my hat model to sfm and it has spine, pelvis and neck rigs. Is that okay/normal?
