I tried just now but to no avail :( I still get the same error. Here's the new Blender console screenshot[sites.google.com]
And here are my Blender Source Tools settings:[sites.google.com]
It does create an SMD file (man_ref.smd), but HLMV.exe cannot see it, I suppose that confirms that this is not a good SMD file, is that right?
So what should I do next?
Btw the location of my files is in a subfolder called "man_model" inside the "F:\steamapps\common\Left 4 Dead 2\bin" folder.
Thanks,
DPC
Someone said I should export the phys smd too so I did. Got another error message though: "No animations found",which brought me to fix this:
$sequence idle "man_ref.smd"
Also moved my files to this path
steamapps\common\Left 4 Dead 2\left4dead2\models\man_model\
but I'm still getting an error :(

In the error report says "could not load man_phys.smd", so I thought of sharing the actual blend file[docs.google.com] should anyone want to inspect my man_phys mesh, which is really just a rectangle big enough to cover the man.
Here's a Blender screenshot of the
viewport showing the man and its phys counterpart[sites.google.com]
