Just want to say thanks to everyone who found time to play on our little server. It really meant a lot to me and helped me through life. Big thanks to all the donors who prolonged its life over the years and made it a fun place to play. Also thanks to all you guys who made competitive teams and represented our little community of pals. I'm off to play with raccoons, so you guys take care.

So it appears that we will not be going down quite as soon as expected. We have a few more dollars in the bank, and we'll be up for at least another month. Axl wants to make sure that none of our donations are wasted. REGARDLESS, I expect a full house tonight, because what good is a server without people to play on it?

I have a lot of emotions running through me at a time like this. As a lot of you know, I have major depression, and as I saw the decay of TF2, the unstoppable slide of the popularity of our niche little custom map server that never compromised for traffic, I've become very sad but happy at the same time. Sad at what's being lost, the community home that we could all rely on, the fun maps that will never be duplicated, the amazing skill level among regulars that drove competition and pushed us all to be better, the mutual respect for each other that kept us all from getting too salty and kept everything fun, the humor and laughter shared as we played into the wee hours of the morning. As the end drew near, even though I didn't know it was SO close, it became a strange burden to be an admin on a ghost town, a feeling of responsibility, that somehow I had failed, and as that feeling grew, the self-fulfilling prophecy came to light, and in the end I've been barely active, and for that I truly deeply apologize, but I don't think any of us could have held this off for much longer, not even us admins.

However I'm so extremely happy that I got to share something like 2000 hours of my life with you all. Being an admin here is my proudest accomplishment in my digital life, working to keep and make Axl's TF2 a great, fun, unique server. I had to learn to use a light touch and to let stuff slide off my back, but in the process I grew as a person and learned a lot that helps guide me in real life. Especially about dealing with trolls. The friends I gained here help just by existing, simply being on my list and inviting me to play once in a while, even when I'm not in the mood to play with friends (my brain is strange), brightens my life. The knowledge that the server we played on was special, truly one-of-a-kind (not counting soccer 24/7!), with maps that weren't found or weren't played anywhere else, or maps that became popular on custom map servers made with us in mind and released first to us, this knowledge that I was a big part in something really precious to a lot of us is a memory I will cherish for the rest of my life.

Even though the server is closing (though who knows maybe somebody will donate. Sure wish I could.) we're still a community. This group will serve as a memorial for the best server on TF2, and to the memories shared with friends met on it's battlefields. Let us not drift apart, but together, as we say goodbye to our home, and let us hold onto these friendships and memories for as long as we can.

Sorry to get so damn sappy on you all, but I had to make a statement and fulfill what I see as my duty as an admin (which isn't to say it's anybody else's duty) to say how I felt about this situation and lead a farewell party tonight. I'll be on from 7 pacific to until I'm the last man standing, and we'll party like it's 2009!!!

Be there or be square, because I'll be damned if we're going out with a whimper, even if I have to spam every single last one of you with invites all damn night.

The server has been down for a few days and Axl has been unable to get to a computer for the past few weeks, meaning he didn't know until now that it was down. But never fear! Axl is here! The server is being worked on (the cause of the problem is unknown, but apparently it's really messed up somehow) and when it's up expect another announcement!
