Hey guys, I know this group seems a little lifeless, but I thought I'd join and kick start things. (:
I've played AvP on the PS3, now I've bought it on PC. But the things I noticed, like on the PS3, is I had to invite peeps from other games to join me in AvP to revive Multiplayer again.
So I was wondering, is there a possibility of playing Multiplayer with you guys? Considering Colonial Marines is coming out, we could train ourselves to kick butt on those pesky aliens again. (:

Yeah, this place isn't exactly thriving with activity. We need to get more scheduled games going at some point, especially given that dedis are now out.

What happened to all those awesome scheduled games we were having at the start?? C'mon, admins, schedule some games!! AVP is on limp legs ALREADY.

More than anything, they need bigger maps, and need to sort the spawns out before anything else...

in AVP 2 the preatorian was like a tank for the aliens, a big one but couldent climb on surfeses or whatever its called, but now, just a normal reskinned alien drone Dx

i never played avp2, so I wouldn't know what I'm missing. Who knows what they might do with this game. They're already planning a sequel, so what they decide to do for DLC with this one is anyone's guess.

A dedicated server patch was release tonight, they are keeping to their promise, i for one welcome it and think Rebellion are awesome and i love the game (hence doing us a proper forum).

i had some great round of infestation earlier all lag free no one over 150 ping

okay, so it was all a little premature, the dedi launch is simply going from Closed Beta to Open beta. still..... things are happening at last. I wonder if it will be any better tonight.

I was thinking about using the forum for arranging games, but I think Steam does a pretty good job of that. Just create a new "Upcoming Event" and that seems to do everything we could hope for really. Maybe use the forum for discussing a particular upcoming event in detail if required. Though only admins can create a new event i think.

As for being able to edit comments, I think the Group creator is the only one who can change permissions. I'm not exactly sure who that is. Liamdawe aka Dorkafuss?

There is no option to allow people to edit comments Frizzle. Admins can't even do it.

Another recommendation: A message should be put somewhere on the group page to inform people that the Group Chat really is the place to be for organising scheduled games, since leaving comments for a particular event saying "can i get an invite" isn't really practical. People should join group chat for getting into scheduled games

I think people should be given permission to Edit their comments. It only makes sense.

Tip Smithy, drop the spear. PIck up the Plasma Caster. If someone's trying to heavy attack. Fire it once, no charging up. It will stop them. Beautiful little trick against Aliens. It has a small AoE also so it can knock Aliens off walls or what not. For Marine's I'd suggest charging it up and going for a kill at distance. Otherwise try for a focussed attack, which usually knocks a marine down, meaning they are dead. And for the love of god, use your ears. You are at the biggest disadvatantage in terms of being able to see your enemies, you are screwed over by your magical tunnel vision. Pred's are hard to play, next to Marine and then finally Alien being the easiest. (Don't give me hate damnit, Alien is simply sprint to target, be evasive and tail-whip from wall or heavy attack. Against a pred it's simply go from behind or tail-whip from the wall. Nothing special imo, wall-tailing is a legit tactic!)
