@DWAM: I checked my desktop in when I flew here from Michigan, and I've done it a few times too. These are probably pretty obvious tips and not super helpful, but this is what I do. 1) Wrap your box with clothes. You probably won't need too many layers though. 2) Most suitcases come with these tie down straps. Tie them down tight over the cloth-wrapped package. 3) The most important thing is that the bottom sides (I say sides, because you need to take care of the large flat side, where your usually place your suitcase on when you open it up, and the side with your wheels) are packed tightly with clothes so that your rig doesn't bounce around too much.

At home, I have a gaming desktop that I built this year that I usually game on. Unfortunately I decided it was too large to bring to Seattle, so my usual gaming capabilities are a bit limited at the moment. I am going home for a weekend, though, so I might decide to bring it then. Did anybody else lug a desktop to Seattle and have any tips for me?
