It'll give you a pretty good idea of what games to get when starting out on PC. Although I'll add in a few others. Tribes: Ascend, Terraria(if you like Metroid-ish adventure games with a hint of minecraft), MODS(especially Black Mesa, and Nightmare House 2), Alien Swarm, Super Meat Boy, The Binding of Isaac, Cave Story, the Doom series(if you're interested in older FPS games), Spiral Knights(a F2P MMO), Max Payne 1 & 2, and Magicka. This is my opinion, so yours may differ, but I hope this helps.

What FOX mentioned is really usefull, i have missed countless streams and other stuff just because im not sure what time it will be in my time zone

Jason, you can actually set up an event so that everyone in the group will be notified including what time, and it auto adjusts to the correct timezone of the player which is nice. You just have to go to post an announcement and then choose schedule event. That way people aren't left guessing.
