A serious comment about Doki Doki Literature Club
...Why is Doki Doki Literature Club not downloadable for Linux through steam? I know it runs on Linux. I've played it on Linux.

What gives?

Developers or publishers must upload the Linux version. They did not. You can ask in their web forums.

There could be issues they experienced on some distributions... AND/OR they are too lazy, don't have the resources to- , or feel too unknowledgeable to want to risk having to supporting Linux users trough steam client on a very broad array of Linux setups/distros.

(Eventhough Linux users are by far the best audience to help solve bugs and participating in giving technical feedback on issues and bug reporting....While Windows user's are actually more often than not "MAH GAME NOT WORK! WHY GAME NOT WORK! ? FUUUUUUUUU! MAKE MY GAME WORK!!!!!!")

A shell script that runs a python app seems pretty universal to me.
