Game bans can be issued for reasons other than cheating.

You make a new account and stop violating the game's rules.

What I find irritating is that even if someone is game banned in CS2, the link on the profile still leads to "Banned by Game Developer (Game Ban)". In that FAQ it says:

Do players have the ability to appeal bans?

Players should contact the game developer if they wish to appeal a game ban, since the developer has the data describing why the ban occurred.

However, the "CS2 - I've been game banned FAQ" states the following:

Can I appeal my game ban?

No. Game bans cannot be appealed and are not removed from accounts.
