VAC-BAN Expired????
Hello everyone who is reading this.

About 3,100 days ago, I cheated in the old version of CS:GO and received a VAC ban roughly six months after I started using cheats consistently.
My friends and I all cheated on our main accounts and eventually got VAC banned as well. We then bought new accounts and continued playing that way for about a year or two.

Since the release of CS2, I’ve received a new VAC ban because of “phone number sharing” with one of my old accounts that I no longer have access to. None of my friends have access to their old accounts either, yet all of them have had their VAC bans removed. Even the old accounts that were banned while using the same phone numbers including those linked to my friends’ own numbers on accounts they can no longer recover, have also been unbanned and no longer show any VAC restrictions.

However, all my friends who also had banned accounts have had their VAC bans completely removed, even though they cheated too. How is it possible that something that’s supposed to be permanent is now only temporary?
After 8.4 years of being VAC banned, their bans are gone... yet mine is still there. How can that be?

VAC bans that are more than 5 years old are no longer visible on the profile for other users. The actual ban is still there, just not the red text (unless the account also has a game ban, then it will always be there).

So your admitting to cheating and even buying accounts.

At least your making the case band should always stay permanent .

Okay, understood, but how is it possible that my friend can play on his account that is supposed to be VAC-banned? We received VAC bans around the same time, yet he can play CS:GO 2 without any issues. Somehow, his VAC ban seems to have been removed. Mine is still there after 8,4 years.

Everyone is getting banned for a reason. Also he did make a post years back for getting banned without any reason even though he cheated.

I wouldn't get banned if i didn't cheat. Im just asking why their vac ban is removed but mine isn't.

Check their ID/profile with https://vaclist.net/ and you can see if they're banned.
if they're banned then they are just playing on non protected servers or whatever they're called.

It only matters if any accounts are linked by phone number AT THE TIME of the cheating infraction. Using a number later that WAS on an older account will not cause that new account to be VAC banned.

Phone numbers that were tied to banned accounts can immediately be used again.

There are no restrictions placed on phone numbers that were on an account when the account was VAC banned; phone numbers can immediately be used on new accounts.

As stated by others, after a period ie 5 years, the vacban stop showing to other people, but they still have the ban. Now i wanted to make you as an example but you sitting with both a gameban and a vacban, so in your case unfortunately, your bans will show forever, or until Valve changes something on their end.

But like you admitted, that both you and your friends cheated, so bans is permanent
