life is too short (for long games)
I see many reviews for games where people complain about games not being long enough for the price

but life is just too short for that nonsense. in fact, if a game is longer than 3 hours then I start feeling like it's wasting my time.

I don't even want to tell you about books then....

Gaming is in fact a waste of time, like most entertainment things.
But when they want money and give me a bad product, it's still bad

2 different things

I suggest you play a game that's actually good. If a game really is good, having >3h of fun with it is perfectly fine.

Then gaming is not for you and just the run of the mill movie entertainment is your thing, if I am buying a game for £20 or above i expect 100 hours minimum or one hell of a story if shorter.

Suspect you are suffering with tiktok mind syndrome, I had that where shortform clips on tik tok, youtube and elsewhere degrade you attention span, found myself skipping to the good parts of movies and losing attention in games.

The fix, block all youtube shorts and stay off brain rot tik tok.

Fomo is strong amongst younger generations.

Modding games is a great way to play something for thousands of hours and still enjoy it.

Why do you even play video games in the first place, OP?

Avoid RPGS. Especially ones like skyrim or final fantasy games. Even tales games i suggest you avoid.

Yea and this is why they adverstise so much FOMO in many store i noticed nowadays. I could care less about FOMO. I had my fun 20 years ago standing in lines for stuff..now i don't care.

Meanwhile, I prefer long games. Not necessarily “forever games” (in the sense of live-service games/MMORPGS, though there’s some I like) but games that take roughly 100 hours to beat and more to complete, games with depth (character customization/class builds/ways you can play), sandbox/simulator games, and open world games.

But some of my favorite games are also fairly short (10-30 hours), and I’ll occasionally play even shorter ones (1-5 hours) if they catch my eye and the price is right.

Me too..long games i feel give more content for the amount of money you buy them for. Id rather spend 50 or 60 dollars on a game i can spend more hours in then a game that takes 2 hours to beat. Check out my post played game on my games i own. Guess what? IT is a rpg.

imagine how much you could accomplish in life if you didn't waste all your time on 100 hours of repetitive slop

You have 1k+ hours in PUBG

Imagine all the time and money you could have saved by not playing video games at all or babbling to other people about the topic?

With life reducing my available gaming time I've grown more fond of games that respect more my time. Also I've grown more wary of playing games that take a long time to 'learn to play'

The good thing about FOMO is it just takes missing out on one thing to stop working.
