Just look for older titles, I bought a game that was 85 percent off.

I got a ton of games so far. Being a late adopter and being able to wait decades to play things like Resident Evil or Halo pays off lol

Don’t worry—Steam has you covered if you were still hoping to run discounts during the unofficial official start to the holiday shopping season, known in many regions as Black Friday and Cyber Monday (and the days in-between!)

Though Steam will not be hosting a Black Friday sale of its own, we will have Black Friday special offers on our Discounts and Events page from November 24 through December 1st as a way to surface discounted titles of all genres during this time period. This is just like our usual Special Offers Page that we have year-round on Steam, but with extra theming and artwork around Black Friday.

This means November 24th through December 1st is still a great option for running discounts; just be aware that participating in Black Friday Special Offers triggers the usual discount cooldowns and is not exempt the way our seasonal sales are.

black friday sales are a myth.

Every previous Black Friday event has been full of sales. I don't know what happened but this time, almost nothing I'm looking for sales on had any discount. This year's is objectively, egregiously bad.

Steam did not make a sale of it this year. The only "sales" you saw were publishers deciding to do it at that moment.

So the answer is clear: corporate greed. That's it.

Basically "black friday" is an American thing that was created by your own consummer industry and they decided to drop the ball this year as far as I can gather from all the complaints...

While the sale was unambiguously a AAA move, I didn't mind it because I liked how it pushed all the publishers' sale pages to the forefront. That was interesting. It was kind of like a trade show or open air market in a way. Instead of a sale page with just games you had a sale page (yes also with games) with booths. It was a bit interesting for that. It was also cool to see mostly AAA like that. I have nothing against indie but mostly every game in the sale was a powerhouse.It wouldn't even be anything but Steam has been pushing indie so well for so long that it was actually kind of shine for the AAA publishers.
