Avoid getting flagged by Valves broken system

So apparently Valve Valve's automated system for weeding out scammers and spammers is broken beyond belief.

Almost a week ago someone in Mac gaming made a post that was simply a copy paste of a message from support telling them why they got a ban. No context, no dialogue added. Nothing.

I simply clicked the reply button and typed "What?" and posted the comment.

Apparently my actions innocent action would have grave penalties as my comments over a period of time were permanently wiped, my account locked preventing further comments and posts, I could not buy, self, or trade, no buying games, I couldn't even sign into friends to play games with anybody.

Valve's notice claimed I posted or promoted suspicious links listing the message I replied to and my account was locked until I contacted support. They falsely stress in the message that this wasn't a ban.

I wrote a message to support and when I clicked send it told me I tried to send too many tickets and I had a 24 hour wait until I could contact them. Any further attempt increased this by one hour. So now I couldn't play with or contact my friends for over 24 hours and my profile page turned blank. SO much for not being a ban,

Upon finally contacting Valve they claimed they were sorry and unlocked the account but now all of my friends are now seeing a flag on chat claiming I've posted suspicious content or some such nonsense and to not trust me.

After contacting Valve again TWO MORE TIMES they assured me that its no big deal and that if I trust the person I can ignored the message making it clear they didnt read what I wrote in either message.

I advise everyone here to not reply to any message that contains a Link or mentions a specific site as Valve will mindlessly flag you for whatever it was that the OP did and nobody will actually read your tickets.

That would be fine except I've repeatedly made tickets for humans to read only to be told its fine repeatedly when its anything but. Checking my history should have cleared this up but nobody at support is doing their job.

I'd rather have longer reply periods with real solutions then to be quickly ignored.

There is "oops my link got nuked" kind of false positives. Then there is the "oops I locked your entire account" kind of false positive.

At some point the system needs to be seriously looked at if it starts whacking people left and right.

1. You quoted the scam message with your reply. That alone will get you moderated along with the scam message. Don't quote the scam messages.

2. The new warning message is kinda broken for some.

Support did their job. They unlocked your account.

They did not do their job as my account is still flagged as suspicious when any human being can look at what happened and realize my account doesn't need to be flagged.

I'm neither defending nor criticising, but "manual" moderation takes a huge amount of time and considering the number of steam users, it's a lot of interactions. Yes, mistakes do happen. Even we make mistakes...

When steam support gets contacted once to clear things up and two more times to unflag an account it goes beyond unreasonable.
