Am lost, please help
Didn't know where to ask this one.

Steam downloads on my pc are slow. Peaks at around 90 and then disk usage quickly starts dropping to 0. If I change regions, it basically resets it to 90 and then starts dropping disk usage again until 0.

Battlefield 6 update a few days ago took almost 45 minutes to complete. Did the same update on my laptop and it was done in 2 minutes. Laptop is downloading and writing at close to 800.

So now I dont know why my pc is so slow and its hardwired in. Speeds were fine. Few weeks ago and it just randomly started this.

Disk speed shouldn't be an issue since im using m.2

Any input is welcomed and appreciated

Start your system in safe mode (for obvious reasons with networking) and see how Downloads run then.

Try these:

  1. Top left: Steam > Settings > Downloads > "Clear Download Cache"

    If that doesn't work:

  2. Top left: Steam > Settings > Storage > Select the 3 "..." for more settings that's to the right of the colored representation of your storage on that drive > "Repair Library"

    If that doesn't work:

  3. Verify your disk health using a program like CrystalDiskInfo.

    If that doesn't work:

  4. Check if your Firewall/Antivirus is somehow interfering.
