Question regarding blocking users who harass via Content / Profile comments...

So I know if I block the other user, it hides their rude comments from ME, but can other users who view my community content still see the comments?
Or do I need to hit the trashcan button and manually delete it?

I guess I COULD just leave the rude comments there, but some of these are so brain-rotted that I feel like they would offend ANYONE who reads them regardless of whether or not they were the intended recipient :P

Other users can still see these comments.

Another question - if I report the harasser and then delete the comments, can the Steam moderators still see the other person's comment history, or should I leave them there for evidence?

You could just disallow comments from anyone but yourself OR only allow comments from friends if you want to avoid harassers commenting on your profile. Idk if Steam mods can still see the comments if you delete them-I’d assume there’d either be a backend record somewhere or the comment would be attached to the report-but I could be wrong.

3-2-1 backups... in other words; yes they can go back and check their backups...

Alright, can anyone reaffirm this? I'd like to be 100% sure before I go through and clear out my junk comments :)

Nah, I'd rather let the comments come in so I can block and report the person - besides, ever since COVID, 95% of the people who send me friend requests are either scammers trying to get a hold of my account information, or self-promoting spammers :P

Users can even see their own deleted posts/comments in their comment history.
