Depending on the argument, the mods may have decided to remove the whole thread as a way to tell everyone involved to stop arguing without the need to actually punish anyone.
The thread was offensive.
"I wonder why a company doesn't want to be associated with a bunch of gamers insulting trans people. It really is a mystery, we may never know."
Funny because its opposite, plenty of "DEI" games that get success, and the games that cater to "anti-woke" seems to be flopping.
LGBT people exist, black people exist and bear with me... are you ready? ok... black LGBT people exist too.
And since they exist, expect to see them in games.
The number of 'anti-wokies' on steam in total is less than the number of people playing counterstrike at any given time. Much like obvious racism, you don't have to be 'woke' to not want to see transphobia when you just want to play a game.
And yes, games made by a handful trans people gobbled up by their audiance would be a success story for the "hand full" or potentially single dev.
Going forward, please separate the LG from the rest. It is not an alphabet cereal box .
AC Shadows was one of better selling AC games.
SteamDB says it had peak of 64,825 Steam players, meanwhile:
AC:Origins -> 41,551
AC:Odyssey -> 62,069
AC:Valhalla -> 15,679
Also Yasuke was not trans, just black.
But since you probably are one of those people that complain about "historical accuracy" I wanted to remind you that in AC2 Ezio literally beats up pope.
In AC Odyssey you can find mythical creatures like Medusa or Cyclops.
AC Origins had crossover with Final Fantasy XV
It's always funny to see discussions like this on the Steam forums and then alt+tab to my corner of the fediverse where 80% of the posts I see are from transgender people, many of whom are game developers.
(For example, me.)
The reason someone might want to depict a woman or a gay person or a black person in their fiction is quite simple: they're people, and they want to depict people in their fiction.
Plus, it's easy to write a character if you know someone in real life who's like that character.
There's nothing complicated about it.
