somebody else purchased it
I was trying to buy a skin from steam market, steam asked me to confirm my purchase from mobile. I confirmed the purchase from mobile. After the confirmation, I got an error on the buy page. When I refreshed and try to buy again. it says that somebody else purchased the skin.
because I went through the mobile confirmation, I lost the purchase race. It seems like steam is not blocking the item for you when it asks for confirmation. you need to be very quick to confirm it.
